Hey everyone, So I am writing from my families home in Lancing, which is along the English Channel, right below London... it is super nice here and so I am off to the beach for today! I am loving being in a real house for a while with family and having my own room, bed and space to just hill out- a vacation from my vacation really! Anyways, I have a bunch to write about, so here goes! You heard a little about Belgium and then we were on to London via the Chunnel; however it is just a dark tunnel that you don't realize you are going in to... but very fast, so it was worth it! We got to our beautiful hostel in London and crashed; we stayed in a 10 bed dorm room ... read more

Hi everyone! Well, Connie and I are on the last leg of our journey and we're looking forward to being home soon and showing everyone some good pictures and sharing fun memories. We are currently in Portsmouth, England, visiting a friend of Connie's and generally relaxing a good deal. It's funny... travelling is not necessarily relaxing. There is the constant anxiety and worry of catching a train, making a connection to another location, watching your bags, etc... And on top of that, there is so much to see and do in every location that you can feel overwhelmed. So this is the first stop that we've had where we can't really sight-see and are forced to relax and bum around a house for a bit. It's been really nice. Thanks to everyone for their suggestions for ... read more

With my term in Maastricht coming to an end, it was time to venture off to the United Kingdom and get settled in for a semester there. It seems that wherever I go in Europe, it is just as long of a trip as if I had gone across the Atlantic. The trip started off with a 2 ½ hour train ride to Amsterdam, 50 minute flight to Bournemouth, short drive to the coach station, and then a 2 hour bus trip to Portsmouth. Adding on the hours spent waiting for the next mode of transportation; it took 12 hours for me to reach my destination. By the time all this is over, one feels like it is not possible that the distance of the trip only amounted to a few hundred miles. Bournemouth: the smallest ... read more

It was a mad dash to Ciampino airport the other night ! Really didn't think we'd get it all done yet everything seemed to fall into place as the minutes ticked away. Forcing me to realize how precious every minute, moment of the day is. Thank goodness the computer was already packed or we may not have gotten out the door ontime. Began the morning waiting for the post office to open at 830 while Sean was already at the office. There was a small group of early risers waiting to enter the PO and take care of business. I had two packages to mail off to England once that was complete. Returned to our home for the two and half years piu o meno to continue all involved in moving house! Amazing, how much stuff ... read more
