Yes it's time to head back home. With 11.5 weeks already gone on this trip it's time to return to Sunny Southsea and start looking for a way of making some money. Having reached John o'Groats the plan was to cycle down the eastern side of the great British Isles. Despite the depressing articles in the daily tabloids (ASBO activity etc), the one thing I will take away from this 11.5 week trip is the generosity and kindness displayed by the British public. My favourite tale is being stuck in Aberdeen with nowhere to stay for the night. With the Youth Hostel full and B&Bs all displaying their "No Vacancy" signs, I stumbled across a bloke having a tab outside his local boozer. Enquiring the whereabouts of some cheap digs he said I had a trusting ... read more

Wednesday 11th July Today, re-inspired by Live Earth I decided to offset my carbon footprint for the year via the website http://www.carbonfootprint.com/. It has a calculator where you enter how much electricity, fuel etc you consume and it ended up costing me about £60 to help fund a tree planting project. I also bought energy saving light bulb that use 12W instead of 60W for the same brightness and looked at switching to green power sourced from renewable energy. It only cost about 10% more than normal power but unfortunately our power meter was a weird type that would have to be changed for us to be able to use it. I also researched powering the Pug partially with vegetable oil as it is a diesel and has no problem running at least 25% vege oil. ... read more

Friday I meet up with Matt who had been paragliding in the South Downs and spending time with his paragliding friends before departing. I had spent the week in London sorting out the final arrangements staying with Mic and Kaz who treated me like a Queen thank you. I jumped in the train from London Victoria to Glynde in Sussex to meet Matt. We went to a beautiful country pub for a dinner and spent the night wild camping with the paragliding friends ... read more

Got up at 6:30am with a killer hangover to get to my aunties place for 8, for a 2 hour drive with a huge smelly labrador in the car to get to Sussex by 10:30, to get to the pub for 11 for quick few pints before horse riding at 12...... My head hurt. We went horse riding in the woods in Winnie the Poo's country. Where Poo's bridge is (the original poo sticks bridge) and Christopher Robins house. If my head didn't hurt every time the horse moved I would have found it amazing. The woods were beautiful and we saw lots of grey squirrels. We got off the horses and I thought my legs would never be the same again. I went with my auntie Linda and my cousin Alex and Linda's friend ... read more

Hi all, So we have alot to update you with!! Firstly us and Terri's parents had a day out in Epsom in Surrey where we went for a country walk (Leondre and Terri ran though as training for the 5km race in june!) after which we went to a pub for a nice pub lunch which we had deserved! We met some of Terri's other family there too, and afterwards we all went to view Terri's late uncle's model train displays at an exhibition. After this we went to Kingston to do some shopping and we ended up staying for too long and we had a picnic by the river thames. Where we made Leondre try his first english pork pie and scotch egg!! (see the pics!!) Our next big day out was a day ... read more

Hi all, So we finally made it to England!! We will first though tell you all about our mad week in Jo'burg! After a very bumpy and terbulant flight we landed in Jo'burg! Then we got a bit lost trying to find Leondre's brothers car at the airport, which he had left for us to use. We found it eventually and made our way to my Aunt's house who we would be staying with for the week. She unfortunatly got stuck at work so we had to entertain ourselves for a few hours in the mall until she arrived home! When she got there it it was just enough time for us to get changed and head out the door again to meet Leondre's friends at a Monte Casino pub. The next day we went ... read more

Hello loved ones.. Well since london i trekked it up to Manchester - home of the gods of soccer Manchester United - to stay and see some good old mates from Oz.. These mates being Ben, Danny and their grilfriends Tai and shell who many of you might know.. It was great to have some time with them and enjoy their mateship if only for a few days.. Just in case any of you wanted to know they are all do fine, working hard and managing to still enjoy life even if the average temp is below 5C... Well, we did all that was needed from england's third biggest city, that being - got drunk, blended with those down to earth Manks and watched Man utd (and even Man city) at probably the most simple minded ... read more

This is a back-dated blog telling of two recent trips we made in search of a beach this winter. Our first ‘beach trip’ occurred in November when we took off to Brighton. Yes Brighton. Brighton was featured in the1979 classic ‘Quadrophenia’ and the place where the ‘Mods and Rockers’ threw a few chairs around back in the 1960’s. Like everyone else who visits Brighton for the first time, we (Noogs, Sam, Anna W, Chris and I) made headlines for the pier…. Hmmmm…. The pier - an ‘interesting’ place. An ensemble of rides, food stalls and side show amusements sitting above the water on a pier. Hench the name. The pier is so tacky it was highly amusing. What we really enjoyed was the people watching. Ha ha - I could have hung out there for hours! ... read more
