We're back again with some more travel photos! Cambridge is a city in England that we've wanted to visit since we first arrived in August 2007. We figured that since the number of weekends remaining before we come home are limited, we had better get there soon! So, last weekend we hired a car and went on another road trip! Luckily the weather was on our side and it was a beautiful day.
Strangely, driving on the left side of the road now seems normal! The millions of roundabouts are fantastic and we now officially detest the traffic light system at home. Roundabouts are great because they keep traffic moving at all times. It's too bad that North American drivers don't adapt to roundabouts very well and drive like idiots around them. Oh well. There are many things that are better in Canada than in England that we have to look forward to. Mainly, we're very excited to see everyone again! When we come home next week I hope we adjust quickly to looking the proper way when we cross the street so that we don't get run over! We already couldn't be at our buck and doe...it would be terrible

to get run over and not make it to our wedding! Also, it will be strange to go back to driving an automatic car. Most cars in Europe are manual and Bri LOVES driving them! Will has been practising but still has not perfected it. When it comes time for us to get a second car, we might just have to get ourselves a manual!
Ok, time to go back and give you some information about the brilliant city of Cambridge! Cambridge is a university town, best known for the University of Cambridge, one of the world's premier universities. Many colleges are very, very wealthy (example: as of 2005, Trinity College had an independent financial endowment of £621 million). The buildings in Cambridge have striking architecture and there is a very joyous feel in the streets. Street performers such as musicians and talent acts are on various corners trying to earn a day's wages as crowds gather around to take in some entertainment. A large market selling everything from fruit to jewellery and clothing is outside of Great St.Mary's Church and students working for punting companies grab tourists' attention on their way by to talk them into a punting tour on the River Cam. Will purchased a pair of sterling silver earrings with purple gemstones as a gift for Bri. How sweet! In the afternoon the sun was shining and it was nice and warm out, so we were easily convinced to go on a punting tour! We boarded our little boat with a few other people and enjoyed a 45 minute tour on the River Cam. We passed by many bridges and colleges, King's College and it's chapel being the most striking and dominant buildings along the river. The river was full of other punting boats filled with tourists and locals just relaxing and enjoying the sunshine. Some couples could be seen sharing a bottle of wine and having a picnic on the river. The river and surrounding area had a very calm, relaxed feel with people just enjoying the day. We spent the rest of our day doing a bit of shopping and simply walking the streets taking in the architecture and surroundings! We hope you enjoy the pictures.

Will & Briana Truong
We moved to England in August, 2007. We had just graduated university and were looking for our first teaching jobs, so we decided to venture overseas to travel around Europe and start our careers at the same time! While living in England we travelled and saw more places than we ever imagined would be possible! In addition to our travelling adventures, we got engaged on Christmas Day, 2007 and were married on August 22, 2009! What a wonderful way to spend those two years of our lives. We never thought we would have the opportunity to work and travel abroad. If you look around our blog you'l... full info

Wicker baskets fastened onto "old-fashioned" bicycles are very common! You'll see very few mountain bikes here!
