The Colosseum
This is the largest monument of imperial Rome in existence. It is an amphitheatre where gladiators fought to the death with wild beasts. Construction started in AD72.
Our two-week trip to Italy has been, without contest, the best trip we have taken during our entire time in Europe. The sites, the food and the chaotic driving experience which led us along the beautiful coast of the Mediterranean all contributed to the memories that are etched in our minds, never to be forgotten.
