Glorios weather this morning, warm and sunny - would pass for summer in the UK, or late spring on the Vendée! Eventually got away at midday, drove down into Moraira to find the big Friday market still in full swing. Took our time wandering round it (bought a POTATO PEELER- WOW!), then went for a coffee. Called in to say hello to Geoff and Doreen one more time (but not for long - Doreen had a touch of bronchitis she didn't want to share!). Visited the nearby "chinese shop" and Carrefour, and had tortilla for lunch in the car park! At Javea, filled up with diesel and LPG, then headed north again - sort of, by way of a mountain pass with zigzags up and down! Found a lovely spot (via Park4night again) at "Nova Denia," ... read more

Slept until nearly 9am, even though we were on the street. Woke to lovely sunshine - nice change as yesterday had been quite cold. Jacqui did us a full fry-up "brunch," which was delicious. Not sure if we really needed it after a late evening meal last night, but hey-ho, enjoyed anyway. Took a walk on the front to shake it down, then said our farewells and headed north, to an ACSI campsite near Moraira. Being a little inland makes lot of difference to availability - whereas Calpe and Altea were all full up, here there was plenty of room for us, and a pitch which the girl says gets lots of morning sun. Booked in for two nights. Kept the evening meal VERY light, as we still didn't feel hungry after last night and this ... read more

So it's 2019, and after a lazy breakfast we took a walk to the local shops - which all turned out to be closed! Oh, and by "local," we mean about a mile away, on roads with no pavements, and lots of ups and downs! Elizabeth's widget said she'd done over 4000 steps, and 3km. So ... A chilled out afternoon to recover, followed by a delicious evening meal. Really noticing how the temperature can vary dramatically - beautifully warm in the sunshine, really chilly in the shade, and in the evening.... read more

Another good night's sleep, especially since we left the van heating on low through the night. The lovely daytime weather is deceptive, it gets really cold at night! Arrived safely at Tony's uncle Geoff's place at Moraira, mid-afternoon. We've had glorious sunshine all the way down, had the aircon on in rhe van during the middle of the day! Van trip meter now reading 1280km, so 182 today. Spent the rest of the afternoon sitting outside, then a quiet evening indoors to see the New Year in with a bottle of bubbly we'd brought with us. Happy New Year everyone!... read more

Boundary between the Gulf of Valencia and Alicante, Cabo de La Nao is presented to the walker as the nearest mainland point to the island of Ibiza. Its lavish nature makes it a must. In fact, the Department of Environment has highlighted its plant micro-reserves. At the foot of the famous Cape May visit Cova dels Orguens, a natural cavity described by the naturalist Cavanilles late eighteenth century. Its beaches are also presented as suggestive refuges of the Mediterranean. The lighthouse facing the bay from the Cap de Sant Antoni was the successor of other defensive structures that used the privileged position of the plateau. The hermits erected to insulate themselves from the worldly life and so in his honor, was built in the XIV century the chapel of San Antonio, which eventually gave its name ... read more

Been a hectic time the last month with the finishing of the buildingproject in Spain. But finally we could celebrate a Fiesta with friends and people who have participated on this extraordinary house with so much "ambiente" or soul and feelings for guests and owner to feel relaxed and reload batteries. An very own oasis whith a garden of Eden! I is sunday and I´m just trying to have everything to work before we are heading of to the Phillipines. Cameras, Video and Computer are vital and more important than cloths; which you can easily by anywhere. I´m really enjoying getting a good bargain, and my favourite frase are always; "whats the price if I by hundreds" I usually have to explain that I may be interested to import the actual item to my country. Which ... read more

The Javea netball tournament has become an annual event, so April found me there again, playing netball under the Spanish sun. This time spent some time checking out Valencia as well. Had a great time, we came third, I did NOT lose my passport, there is not much else to say - but here are some pictures. ... read more

Ok, Friday I woke up, went to see 2 other BAD apartments, went grocery shopping, had dinner at 330 and packed. Left at 9:00 PM to go to the Mediterranean for the weekend to a friends house with 8 other people. We get there at 1:30 AM after driving almost 5 hours through pouring rain. The house is Rocio's, Paula's best friend from high school. Her dad has 5 houses in different parts of Spain and a house in London and Argentina....WHAT LUCK I HAVE!!! The house is beautiful. It has an in ground pool and is in the middle of this huge national park, so there are only a few houses here an there. The landscape is scrubby, with lots of short trees, mountains, and We play cards and have drinks until 3:30. Next morning ... read more
