Ibiza quelle belle destination de rêve... Ibiza what a dreamful destination... J'y suis allée spécialement pour voir une très bonne copine, Célia. Elle y faisait son stage dans un Hôtel Resort. I went there specially to see a very good friend Célia. She was doing her internship there, in a Hotel Resort. Je suis parti de Barcelone très tôt le matin. Je suis donc arrivée dans le centre historique d'Eivissa pour prendre mon petit déjeuner entre ombre et soleil sur une place assez sympathique. I left Barcelona very early in the morning. I arrived in the historical center of Eivissa to take a good breakfast between the shades and the sun, on a very pleasant square. J'ai visité la vieille magnifique ville construite sur une colline. Les maisons sont blanches, embellies par plein de belles fleurs. ... read more

Santa Eularia D’es Riu We are booked to fly to Ibiza for 10 days with Ryan Air and with the flight purchase was the option to get cheap parking near the airport, which was a bargain so we booked. Getting there was easy as was the transfer to the airport by the company who also pick you up on your return. Tip for travellers – definitely take these offers as parking at the airport is pretty expensive. The Malaga airport is relatively new with the 2 main terminals T 2 & T 3 interlinked. We have hand luggage only so getting on board was a breeze now that Ryan Air allows you to check in online & allocate your seats. The whole experience with RA is so much better than expected after our last ... read more

I had always thought that the lyrics to that Vengaboys song were "we're going to eat pizza." But no - it is about that notorious Spanish party island in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea. Ibiza. When I was at university, I remember watching all of those party documentaries such as Wild On (with Brooke Burke) and Booze Britain, on which Ibiza was regularly featured. Thousands of miles away, in my parents' house, I could only sit and admire the sun, sex, beaches, boat parties and superclubs that were appearing on my screen, wishing one day that I may be able to go. Just over a decade later and my dream was finally coming true...except that it wasn't really much of a dream anymore. Massive clubs, electro music, world-class DJs, 25€ a drink...it isn't really my ... read more

We are a family of four with 2 teenage girls aged 15 and 17; reasonably well travelled,we have been to Japan, several place in the states, toured the islands of Thailand as well as may places in Europe too. We decided that we didn't want to do long haul but after the previous holiday to California we weren't sure what could live up to that amazing holiday. After weeks of research as to where to go in Europe we finally decided on Ibiza. But to which resort?? We wanted to avoid any resort that the package tours used. We always book independently as we like to mix with the locals. Finally we decided on Talamanca: it offers a pretty beach, is within walking distance of Ibiza and has a pretty cool marina nearby too. We were ... read more

"Colombia? Estas muy loco? " said my Colombian born, now Spanish resident, taxi driver on the way from Madrid airport to my hotel for the night. " Es muy Pelligroso". Arriving from Ibiza, where I now live and work as an English teacher, I asked him to take me to the Casa Bellvista hotel, as I had booked a hotel for one night before jetting off to Bogota in the morning. "It's very close to the airport" I told him showing him the address and name of hotel that I'd written down on a piece of paper. "Never heard of it" was his reply. "Ni Hotel ni direccion" I re-checked all my emails. "Si, Hotel Casa Bellavista, Carrea 20 #12B" I said. "Ah -I read on... Bogota" ,This was the hostel I've booked when I land ... read more

Tuesday 26thAug – Cala De Port Roig We finally did it – Disco Volante was built with this goal in mind. All the cold wet days in Wales & Bristol, Mike spending weekends building the boat instead of going out, me sat in the saloon seeing my own breath, wishing it didn’t rain into my lounge when I opened the main hatch, the financial sacrifice – now it makes sense – after 9 years of toil we had arrived in Ibiza!!! We sailed past the Isla Vedra – A bit of a hippy pilgrimage point, especially to watch the sunset. We sailed past and our energy soured… Now just a small matter of the overpriced Ibiza Marinas, crowded anchorages & super yachts getting in the way… Mike had spotted a nice little anchorage called Cala De ... read more

So headed back to the White Isle for the fourth year in a row! Usually go at the end of summer in September but this year thought I'd give the opening parties a go. So glad I did, was such a crazy week with everyone in high spirits for the season to kick off for the summer. I went with one of my best friends from school, Danielle. We both travelled on different flights as she lives in Glasgow and I'm in London. My journey was a bit of a mission with a 6.30am departure from Heathrow (which was an over an hour delayed; usual) to Madrid, I had a couple of hours in Madrid Airport then landed in Ibiza about 1pm. I had a window seat for landing and could see all the island, and ... read more

2 days of beaches, sangria, sunny, warm weather, and amazing mopeds When we first stepped off the plane that Thursday night, the warmth was exactly what we needed. We were quick to take off our London rain jackets and slowly walk to the terminal to take everything in that we are in Spain. While everyone at Harlaxton talked about their trip arrangements to Barcelona and how much it would cost, we decided to take a different route. Danika found a previous study abroad blog about Ibiza, Spain that explained how inexpensive and perfect this Island away was. We found extremely cheap flights their through RyanAir and Norweign Airlines so we booked it. This might have been our best money saving trip yet! We arrived to our hotel that was located right on the side of the ... read more
