Yesterday we went to Leiden. We rode our bikes to central station and caught a double decker train. It was a fair way to Leiden, but as it was an express it only took half an hour. When we got to Leiden we went straight to the tourist info where we got a map and decided to go on the Leiden Loop. The Leiden Loop is a two hour walk which takes you past the best spots in Leiden. There were a lot of cobbled streets, grachts* and brugs*. Along the way we stoped off at a museum of antiquities. There they had lots of information on Egyptian and Roman History which included many real mummies and hieroglyphics from thousands of years ago. They also had lots of old statues from Roman times. Welkom op onze site! Hier willen we jullie het komende jaar op de hoogte houden van onze avonturen in het buitenland. Ongeveer een half jaar geleden hebben wij besloten om voor langere tijd op reis te gaan. We moesten alleen nog even afstuderen (Wij kunnen ons inmiddels MSc. noemen) en een heleboel andere dingen regelen: Route: Het kiezen van een route was voor ons niet moeilijk. Eva wilde al jaren naar Australië en Nieuw Zeeland en Bas zag het wel zitten om een aantal golven te pakken in Indonesië. Onze eerste bestemming is Bali, van waaruit we waarschijnlijk doorvliegen naar Noord Sulawesi om op een aantal mooie plekken te duiken. Hi guys, My first of many blogs. It has been a long time coming but better late than never. This is just to get the ball rolling. In time I will get better at this. Dave was telling me about voice blogs so slow typing wont be an excuse for lack of info. Even video blogs!!! But then I wont be able to sit here nude and type these blogs....just kidding. Well it has been 14 weeks since I left sunny Aus and I am still in about the same position as when I arrived. On a monday morning, Pernille and I had to wake up really early. When the clock beept at six o'clock we went under the shower and raced to school. Then we arrived at school where the busses waited for us. With a two hour drive we where in Zealand. We went to Neeltje Jans, the delta park. First we wached a movie in the park. Then we had a guidedtour threw the museam and learned about the delta works. It was really cold and windy so that maked it more boring. Then we got some fries and a frikandel or kroket. The day of yesterday we were in Amsterdam! We left Leiden on 8.30h with the bus. We arrived in Amsterdam on 10.00h. Then we had to walk to the Gay Modument and that we did. After that we were gone to the Anne Frankhuis. First we have heard a short story of the life of the family Frank. So we knew who she was and where she had lived. Second we went into the house. So we could find more information about her and the Second Worldwar. It was a little bit boring but very educational. Then we went in the city with Claus, Jochem, Niels, Benjamin, Rasmus, Tim, Mohammed and Bas. We went to the Albert Heijn. Then we walked to the Nieuwe Dijk. There we shoped a little bit.
