Hey all.

Crazy. Ive just been to the Berlin Wall. How wierd is that?

Anyway, a few days ago we visted a concentration camp in Austria. It was pretty moving stuff. A lot of tears in the group. We walked up the 'death stairs' where guards would make prisoners race their best friend or family member up to the top (its a huge stone stair way) and whoever won got to push the loser off the cliff. Nasty. Then we walked through the actual camp, down into the basement. I almost lost it when I ducked my head to go into a room and realised it was a gas chamber disguised to look like a shower room. The morning there was really shocking. I was more angry than sad, if that makes sense. It just shows what humans can do to each other. Abbey got a few tears but held together pretty well. Im glad we did it, but Ill never do it again.

From there, as mental as it sounds, we drove on to Munich, went to the famous beer hall and got smashed. It was a great night. We got there early and managed to get a table. I had about 2 and a half steins which is about 2 and a half litres I think. The beer was awesome. I even managed to get Abbey to try some. Everyone was well and truly plastered after a couple steins. Someone finished 8, which I suggested he should see a doctor about.

We only got the one night in Munich with was a bit of a shame. The next morning was a drive to Prague. Another pretty city. Heaps of 'old shit' as I call it. At this point, and as stupid as it sounds, Im done with looking at old bridges and old churches. Seriously. Wait till you see the pics, its basically 'Jon on bridge with river in background' or 'Abbey outside Church called St Marks'.

In Prague we had a boat ride down the river with lunch. It was pretty cool as we had a lady on there talking about how the Czechs changed from Communists to a democracy and she lived through it all, so had some cool stories to share. That night we planned on going out. but started drinking at the hotel which led to a few drinks and roulette at the massive shopping centre next door. We started at 4pm, and by 10 I was ready for bed. Despite Michael and my best efforts we couldnt find any playing cards, so we called it a night.

The next morning we drove here to Berlin. So we've just been to the Wall and are now doing some laundry. Tomorrow we are having a walking tour of the city and a 'night life' tour. The next day we have a massive drive to Amsterdam where.....wait for it.....

...we are all going to a live Sex show. AND its Halloween so we all have to dress up. Im going as an Australian just to piss people off. Ive already practiced my AUSSIE AUSSIE AUSSIE!! annoying voice.

So not long to go, we only have 2 nights in Amsterdam and then its back to London. Looking foward to ordering food without having to act out what it is. Oh, and you havent seen crazy until youve seen Spongebob squarepants in German....

Talk to you soon

Jon and Abbey.

Interesting day for you guys then
Hi Guys Must have been an emotionally charged day...but sounds like you finished it off in the best possible way...WITH LOTS OF BEER!!!! Certainly must make you wonder about the people who claim it never happened (Thanks Mr Iran and some local Maori activists!!) Still was probably a good thing to do, just to bring a bit or reality. It's thursday here, so guess you can't be far from heading to London, hope the rest of the trip has been good...and you enjoyed Amsterdam!! I know everyone here is very excited about you coming back, really looking forward to seeing you both (less than a week now), but also looking forward to just catching up on the whole experience. Happy shopping in London, and safe travels. Love to you both. Dad
