It's christmas season in Denmark!! Anyway, since my last post I have switched host families. I was rather nervous about it at first, but the whole ordeal was rather bittersweet. I left a good family, but I came to a good family as well. My new family is really awesome though :) I have also made Thanksgiving Dinner for all of my host families. That was an adventure. Wow, its so hard to even begin to believe that my trip started 4 months ago. Its shocking to me that time has gone by so fast. So much has happened since I last posted anything. Its been a month and a half so obviously. Well the Holbæk get together was so so soooo much fun. Just a weekend of hanging out with the exchangies was what I needed after my dad left. So much has been going on! I'll just run through my journal and give the highlights :) Very recently after my last post, I had a week of Holiday. My host family too me to Hamburg and Amsterdam!! Amsterdam is probably one of the interesting and beautiful cities. There is so much to do! Yes including "Coffee Shops" and The Red Light District. Of which I did see. It was quite the cultural shock. The first day we were in Amsterdam we didn't do much sightseeing. We stuck to the shops and everyday non-tourist life. En sorry daarvoor!! Maar na de trip hebben we een drukke periode achter de rug, gevolgd door een naar griepje afgelopen week. De terugkomst was goed en we hebben een hoop gelachen om elkaars verhalen en avonturen en al snel vervolgde het oude ritme zich weer. Maandag was de eerste dag dat we zouden gaan klimmen in plaats van kayakken omdat het water nu toch echt te koud is geworden. We begonnen de lessen met touwklimmen in onze assembly hall. Iedereen is weer veilig aangekomen in Denemarken Tijd om weer een kort berichtje te maken. Deze keer zal ik niet zoveel woorden gebruiken maar de foto's laten spreken. De laatste dagen in Finland zijn goed geweest, ons laatste bezoek bracht ons naar Partaharju, een Hojskole zoals de onze hier. Dat was een prachtige plek om te zijn volledige met echte Finse sauna. De Finnen aldaar stonden erop dat wij hun meest favoriete plek in volle glorie mee zouden maken, dus iedereen uit de kleren en de sauna in. 2 months I’ve officially been here for 8 weeks. And it’s still as crazy as it has been. Danish is getting better, but I still can’t understand a normal conversation. Nothing too exciting has happened since the last time you heard from me. I hurt my shoulder due to public transportation and a hockey bag, which isn’t even a cool reason; I have to call the doctors today to see what the results of my x-rays are, so I guess we will see. The past few weeks have been very fun, and I am happy to say that I have done things that I would of probably not had the chance to do back home. About 9 weeks ago I had my language camp with all of the other exchange students it was a lot of fun. Time for an update! It has been just one month since I've updated, yet it seems like it's been forever. Thus far I have just been living my life, ya know? I go to school, I hang out with my friends, and I try to live as much like a "normal dane" as I can. I've realized that in school every wednesday in my class is kagedag. aka: Cake Day! Nog een weekje en dan gaan we de Noordse landen maar eens verder ontdekken De afgelopen week is dit onze voornaamste bezigheid geweest. Gedurende de Euroclass hebben we steeds de tijd gehad om aan onze projecten te werken in de 3 verschillende groepen. Met onze groep hebben we spellen en ice-breaking games verzonnen voor de leerlingen van een Finse Højskole en een jeugdgroep van 7-8 jarigen. Hallo allemaal, Ik had door het drukke programma weer wat vertraging, maar hier zijn we weer. Afgelopen week is een heel goede week geweest. Eindelijk kregen we met de Euroclass te horen waar onze trip van dit semester naartoe gaat en we hebben een hoop leuke activiteiten gehad. Daarnaast is het weer een week vol sport geweest en daar zal ik wat foto's van bijplaatsen. Onze trip zal ons door Zweden en Finland leiden.
