So the big first day is over and done with, infact the first week is down packed. I am attending Sct. Jørgens skole. I survived, just. It is so confusing with all my lessons being in Danish except for English and the language clases. So for some reason the school thought I was from NZ so I spent most of my first day explaining to people I was from Australia, and that I didn't ride a Kangaroo to school, I'm a normal kid catching the bus. I have been placed in the international class too, because some how I am smart and can teach others about Australia but also can cope with learning all the languages I have to with this class. I am studying Kemi, Engelsk, Matematik, Fransk, Dansk, og Tysk. Which is pretty much ... read more

Hi Everybody! Well two weekends ago, i finally moved into my last famaily, and still can't believe how fast it has gone by. I moved in on a Sunday afternoon, which was followed by a long week of school, so i never really got to start bonding with my family. When the second weekend finally arrived i had to leave right away for the last get together with all of the exchange students. We all knew that this weekend would be really sad because it was the last time we would all see eachother again, with the exception of the few. When we all arrived on Friday, it was just a hang out day and getting eveyone arranged in their rooms, which takes a couple of hours when there are about 150 of us loud excited ... read more

So far, as of the 3rd of November, I have been here in Denmark for three months! Yes it is very exciting and still sort of unreal. Each week there is always something new going on and it is making my time here go by way wast, too fast! I am already switching families on the 15th and it is kind of sad. I really like my first family so much but my second family i already know will be just as amazing. I visit my second host dad quite a bit in his sports store on my way home from school, but I am still nervous about living with a new family. However, i went into my second host dad's store the other day and he gave me our schedule for January which will consist ... read more

Today was the first day of school! It was very confusing because it was not like a normal school day. I met my class mates and they all seem very nice, they asked a bunch of questions but you could tell that they are really shy and i believe a little nervous speaking english to me. Last week I went with my councilor to meet my third family, they live about 20 mintutes away from my other families. I will have to take a train to school when i live with them, and that is very exciting =) They own their own business doing construction work, i heard that they are very busy all of the time. Also, they dont speak english at all, so i HAVE to know and learn danish by that time =) ... read more

Hi Everyone! Well, after about 30 hours of traveling, i have finally made it to Struer! I have to say that this traveling experience so far has had its ups and downs, but mostly its downs. Kara, Brittany, and I luckily got to experience it all together. When we arrived to Minneapolis, Brittany and i missed our plane because we thought us three would be all together since all of our other flights were the same as Kara's. Thank goodness that the lady working the front check out area let us board the other flight! Anyways, once we arrived in Detroit, we met up with about 20 other Rotary exchange students =) Meeting these people was very exciting! It felt like I have always known them, and they were just amazing to be around. We had ... read more

I met Anders on the Queen Charlotte track New Zealand and we spent nearly three weeks together, mostly walking the tracks of the South Island, but also Glacier Hikes and Rock Climbing. Anders grew up in Struer Denmark and due to it being the summer before going on to University he was at home working for the summer. I managed to be around for the one weekend he took off from work for most of the summer! It was fantastic to see him again, talked endlessly about our adventures in NZ and planned another visit before I'm 35, to walk the tracks that we missed, Kepler and Milford Sound. Anders introduced me to one of his best friends from home Ole, and on the Friday that Anders had to work Ole introduced me to a new ... read more
