When most people think of the Czech Republic they immediately think of the wonderful majestic castles of the capital Prague. However, there is much more to this country then this tourist mad city. Decin is a small town about 30 kilometers from the German border which has the beautiful Labe ( Elbe ) river running through it. The northern area of the Czech Republic is much more rugged than the southern side with grand cliffs and great national parks filled with pristine fresh rivers and tall pine forests. There are stories everywhere. The problem is we are often to busy to notice the interesting events that go on around us all the time. Today we had a two and a half to three hour layover in Decin as we returned to Prague from Hrensco. Being a Sunday the bus station was closed, so there was no way to sit in the waiting room or to use the toilets ... water closet in the Czech Republic. But there is a park just across the street from the station and, fortunately, there is a large grocery store beside the park that has free water closets.
