Banjole, Pula, Rovinj, Medulin and Bale. Road trip with friends! Best thing in this region??? Food!!!! It's delicious and cheap! We stayed in an appartment, it was located in a very quiet street and had access to the pool. We had fun, they had a good night life and many kind of activities to do during the day. We went on jetski and parasailing!... read more

Here is another blog entry from me to express my disenchantment about my circumstances I find myself in here. The place itself is real beautiful and I like many things here but not the loneliness of not meeting and conversing with different people. Had a fabulous time in Rovinj today. Rented a bicycle to tour around the city and it cost me 30 Kuna for two hours. Had a lovely lunch with sea bass and spinach and potatoes and a mixed salad but the price was also too high for my taste. It cost me 143 Kuna which came to 154 NOK. It was not worth this large price for the food I received. Because I am on a limited budget I must watch every Kuna I spend and make sure this does not get too ... read more

With some time to kill till my bus leaves for the city thought I would try to upload some pictures from my camera but this machine says it is restricted and not possible so guess some words will have to do. Too bad I did not bring my own laptop and then it would be possible with the wi-fi connection. Such is the life and you win some and lose most. My bus leaves in one half an hour so just to kill some time I am here pecking away at this machine. When I get to this city the first thing I will do is get in touch with the tourist office if they have one and find out how much it cost to get to Cres. This place is somewhat boring with all these ... read more

Here I am one more time writing in this blog. Went on an hour tour walking around this super size campsite. I noticed the 4 tennis courts and two soccer fields one with astro turf and the other with natural grass. Outside the clubhouse for the tennis courts they have 6 ping pong tables. Then came the basket ball court and of course the three different mini golf courses with 18 holes each. They have two supermarkets and that is not to mention the three gift shops where you can buy pretty much what you want for the beach. My lunch today was very tasty. I got soul fish broiled with cooked potatoes, fried potatoes, spinach, carrots and mushrooms and a wonderful salad with cabbage and tomato and lettuce. It also came with bread and a ... read more

Well here I am at the naturist site in Valalta. Having a good time and not had any big problems yet. I did just notice that when using the y on this keyboard it gives me the z instead so some adjustment must be made but hey life is not perfect. Today is Monday and yesterday was spent walking around and being at the swimming pool enjoying the sunshine and swimming for exercise. They do have a weight training room with all the equipment anyone could possibly ask for. Took a hot sauna with some others and met a German couple and two polish people who were there too. I must say that I do love this place with all the fellow naturist. Lots of people were at the swimming pool. If I were to guess ... read more

I always liked Croatia and sailing. Combining both loves with my wife, seemed like a winning combination for our next vacation. We were looking for a town that would allow us to study its historical part. We decided on Rijeka - the place where we were going to explore our newfound interest in history. We were amazed to find out that this "big" town (in comparison to other European cities) holds so many wonderful treasures. It is located on Kvarner Bay, an inlet of the Adriatic Sea. Because of its history with the Italians, the population of Rijeka uses its own unique version of the Venetian language called Fiumano. Rijeka is the center of Primorje-Gorski Kotar County in Croatia. The city's economy is based largely on shipbuilding and maritime transport. We rented a motor boat from ... read more

A shade over 10 years after the last arrival in Zagreb, it was time to add the Eternal Derby of Croatia to my footballing catalogue. The recent derby action has been very focussed over the Serb border, but it was now time for a comparison. We were not to know that we would be walking into one of the more controversial weeks in Croat domestic football, since the independent league started. The Man in the Middle was absent. He is always keen to recount the less than fond memories of his last visit, or perhaps he was just embarrassed about the risk of recognition following his finest teapot pose in front of the sponsor boards at the Maksimir. It is worth another look! Bad Blue Boys & All That Jazz In advance of the eagerly awaited ... read more

Kavin ensin kiertamassa amfiteatterin. En vaivautunut menemaan sisalle, koska ulkoakin naki siita tarpeeksi. Kavin katsomassa hiljaista rautatieasemaa ja ostin palatessani postista postimerkkeja. Lahdin sitten kello 12.50 bussilla kohti Verudellan niemea. Kiersin niemen paidatta vast... read more

As we neared the border of Slovenia and Croatia, the traffic started to build. So far, on our travels, we’ve been really lucky: managing to avoid heavy traffic for most of our journeys. Or perhaps it’s because we both live in the South East of England, we are used to battling heavy and aggressive traffic everywhere we go? The first jam was for the border crossing, although Croatia entered the EU in July, at present they still stop and check passports or official papers as you enter the country. We waited our turn for the officials to take our passports and stare at them, and then at us, long enough for us to start to wonder if we had done something wrong, then once our passports were handed back we were on our way. The motorway ... read more
