Three Countries In One Day Ok, we have to admit we told you a wee fib. In our last blog we took you on an adventure overland from southern Nicaragua directly into Honduras and the town of La Esperanza. This was not exactly true, in fact it was not at all true as we actually passed straight through Honduras and into El Salvador. That's right!!!!!!!!!!!! We celebrated Saso's 30th birthday!!!!!!!! So now he is officialy old - he said that :)))) We arrived to playa El Tunco in El Salvador (which is amazing by the way but more about el salvador in the next blog) a couple of days ago and met really nice people in the guest house... we bought A LOT of sea food (shark meat, manta meat, shrimps and fishes), vegetables, chocolate cake, ice cream and - of course - white rum for the biggest buckets of m o j i t o EVER!!! :)))))) It was great!!!!!!!!!!! Hello all, here are some pictures just to prove that I am indeed in Central America and not just in my parents basement. I am sitting in Juayua, El Salvador, it is a gorgeous day, a Saturday, and the day of the week that this town explodes with a food festival, serving such delectable treats as iguana, taurantulas and whatever else your stomach has never actually wanted to digest. Today we made our final visit to the Immaculate Heart of Mary orphanage. Our first concern was the girl who we had sent to the hospital last week for stomach pain. To our relief, it turned out that she was just fine. We saw quite a few staff members and children with parasites this week, probably because some kids had gone home for the Holy Week. Ok. Well now im in Danli Honduras working as a voluntary physio. the last 2 weeks have been mad entering El Salvador and Honduras has introduced me to another level of weirdness. El Salvador what can i say, was there 6 days, never seen anything like it. Today we went to a different village in Chalatenango, Los Flores. Our clinic in this village was essentially an unused garage off of a woman's house. Our first 2 patients were cute little old ladies. One had broken her hip a few years ago so she walked using 2 big sticks as canes and she also wore a bandana like the karate kid. This morning after we crawled out of bed, stretched, and took some advil, we had pancakes and papaya smoothies and then rested up for our 10 minute walk to the Hilton. Although the walk up and down the hills to the hotel was pretty much torture, we spent the rest of the afternoon being fancy and drinking mojitos by the pool. Once we decided that we had inflicted enough sun damage upon ourselves we walked over to a seafood/sushi restaurant a few blocks away.
