Phew, The week/weekend has flown by sooo quickly!! It was one of those weekends where you wish didn't have to end so quickly!!! Yes, I got through my first week of 'work'-work mates are really great people. Very friendly. I am interested in the work they do. Basically they are a consultant company who works in partnership with NGO (international organizations) such as World Bank, UNDP, and so forth. The projects that I they want me do are a few projects working with the World Bank and The Poverty Reduction Fund-basically they want me to assist them in some field work\studies-which is all good to me, because I enjoy field work. I have met some people who I believe are good networks. I think this job here is a good way to reach out and network ... read more

I find it very funny how things are meant to just happen! And well that is exactly what happend to me! After Khon Kaen, I made my way to the border town of Nong Khai-It is funny story because I arrived, and well I just choose the best description off the Lonely Planet, so I decided to give this guesthouse a go. As I am walking through a little 'soi' (alley way) I make my way into the entrance of Mutt Mee guesthouse-a hidden paradise along the Meakong River...Initially I was going to stay one night, but that soon changed right as I entered the Patio, I knew right then that I wasn't sure when I was going to leave...one night, ended in four nights....I literally had to force myself out of the area....I remember meeting ... read more

So here is my second entry for my adventure! Currently, I am sitting in a game shop/internet with a bunch of local kids playing video games..connection is okay-not too bad-I have been offline for about 2 days, believe it or not I was having withdrawels..ummm, sadly facebook withdrawels! I have just arrived in Nong Khai, which is along the beautiful Mekong River-fantastic! I went on an hour sunset boat ride, whilst having dinner, I met a British lady who is traveling alone, too. We chatted and it having company is always nice!! hehe...Well, I just got here and initially I was going to stay for one day, but the place I am staying is FANTASTIC! It is a guesthouse overlooking the Mekong River, and well I kinda need some R & R-as I have been on ... read more

So, My journey started in Albuquerque, New Mexico on June 4th at 6: 45pm. To be honest, I was a bit nervous and everything hit me, and I realised that I was REALLY GOING!!! From ABQ I went on to Phoenix, which I had an hour layover-then finally on to Los Angeles. I arrived in the International Terminal of LAX and that's where it hit me that I am actually doing this all by myself!! It was funny because I was the only one with the big backpack in line...hehehe....most of the flyers were with huge boxes of merchandise from the USA to take back to their home. There were a few Americans on my flight, but majority were Asian. Luckily for me I do not stick out like a sore thumb, usually when I travel ... read more
