So here is my second entry for my adventure! Currently, I am sitting in a game shop/internet with a bunch of local kids playing video games..connection is okay-not too bad-I have been offline for about 2 days, believe it or not I was having withdrawels..ummm, sadly facebook withdrawels!
I have just arrived in Nong Khai, which is along the beautiful Mekong River-fantastic! I went on an hour sunset boat ride, whilst having dinner, I met a British lady who is traveling alone, too. We chatted and it having company is always nice!! hehe...Well, I just got here and initially I was going to stay for one day, but the place I am staying is FANTASTIC! It is a guesthouse overlooking the Mekong River, and well I kinda need some R & R-as I have been on the go for about 5 days now. So I think before I cross into the Laos border-I will chill out here, bike ride the area and head onto to Laos. Before Nong Khai, I visited my friend Kay who lives near Khon Khae. I stayed with her family for about 4 days, it was fantastic-they are very traditional and subsistence farmers, therefore it was very interesting to see and taste all the yummy food-LET ME TELL YOU THE FOOD Here in THAILAND is AMAZING!!! AMAZING!! Fruits and all!! The street food is fantastic! Another major thing is the humidity, it is BLOODY HOT HERE!! I mean HOT!! I am constantly sweating, so all day I am drinking water-I have to watch dehydration, because it is very easily to get dehydrated here-Conditons have been a little tough for the past 5 days, but hey it is all about the experience-so when I am old and grey I can look back and say I did that!!:)
Now Bangkok was a fast, vibrant and hectic city! very Touristy-but I "got lost" onto other streets, other than the tourist areas and stumbled upon some interesting neighborhoods, and met a few people for drinks...Bangkok seems easy to meet other travelers-So far met English and French-I am sure there will be more to come-that is the beauty of traveling!!
I am loving every bit of the trip, although I am sweaty, sticky and muggy all the time-In the end it will be all worth it!! So far, I Loved riding a motorcycle on the Thai countryside, having fresh fish/thai food along a beautiful lake/river, a sunset ride along the Mekong River, Beers on the streets of Bangkok with an old college friend-Being called a movie star in Khon Khae-My life feels pretty damn good right now!! :)
My plan is to head into Laos in two days and from there start working for month-and then off to the other countries, (Nepal, Vietnam and Cambodia)....I am trying to find a place to upload photos, I have loads already!!! I am also writing in a journal, so most of my stuff is jotted down in the journal but here are a bit of the awesome things happening in Ty's life!
Peace, Love and Happiness!
