Today was another travel day for me. I woke up early with Flore and her mother around 8 o clock in the morning and got my things ready to leave. Flore and her mother were making there way to the north of France to meet Flore’s father where he was working for the week. They were taking the car and so they dropped me off at the train station so that I could catch my train at 11:52 am. I sat and waited in a special waiting area inside the Dijon train station and read a lot of A Clockwork [View Full Entry]

Today I woke up around 11 and had breakfast with Flore and her mother. Pain au chocalt et du jus de orange. I spoke to Loic after breakfast and he offered to pay for a ticket for me to come and visit him and his family in Brittany. Luckily I had an extra travel day for my Eurrail pass so it was not necessary for them to pay for another ticket. So my plans have changed and instead of four more days in Dijon, I will be spending them by the see in Brittany. Flore and I straight chilled for a [View Full Entry]

My First Day in Dijon Europe » France » Burgundy » Dijon
Today was my first full day in Dijon! I woke up to a pleasant breeze coming through the window and Flore informing me that breakfast was ready. Walking groggily down stairs we had a breakfast/lunch of bread, cheese (god do I love French cheese) and juice. We watched some television before we got a start to the day and I finished writing a blog I had been working on. Flore told me that we would go and meet Laura (one of my friends from the exchange last year), Laura's little brother, and Laura's best friend at the pool. We took a [View Full Entry]

Today was a Travel day for me. I listed as being in Belfort in the Franche-Comte region, however most of the day I was on a train in 3 different countries. I started the day bright and early when I woke up at 5:30 am and left Joscha's house for the train station. Saying goodbye was really difficult for me. Joscha and I cried for about 45 minutes each remembering all the good times we had over the past 4 days..... NOT We're MEN! Men don't cry. In all seriousness, I was sad to be leaving Joscha, but I was happy [View Full Entry]

Today was my last day with Joscha and we decided to do some more "Touristy" stuff. We woke up ate breakfast, and went to take the S Bahn to the Berlin Zoo. When we got off the train we went down to the booking agent and also figured out my tickets for my trip to Dijon. The booking agent told me that I could not go through Belgium to get to Paris without paying for an entire ticket through Belgium as well. Joscha told me that there was basically no way to not go through Paris to get to Dijon as [View Full Entry]

Lazy Sunday, Wake up in the late afternoon. Wake up Joscha just to see how he's doing. "Yo what up Joscha" "Yo Fiskers whats crackin" "You thinkin' what I'm thinking?" "Sport Spielen, Man it's happenin" "But first nutella calls, lets go walk down the hall" That was my morning :) We woke up around 11:30, ate a breakfast of Nutella, bread, and cereal and went to play battlefield 2 with Joscha and his brother. I took both him, his brother, and 20 bots single handily in 4 different rounds. The Germans don't have much fight left in em' I guess. Anyways [View Full Entry]

Place where Obama gave his speech to Berlin
Today Joscha, Janni and I made our way to the center of Berlin to see some sights. This is the first day I was able to take some pictures in Germany despite my Camera's LCD screen being totally cracked. On the bus, we passed a church that was bombed out by the allies during World War Two. The church is totally bombed out on the inside but some of the outside structure still remains. This is why many Berliners call this church the Hollowtooth. Adjourning the church a memorial was built to honor the dead of WW2. The first thing we [View Full Entry]

Thank you JFK for uttering these famous words, and giving me a catchy intro for my blogging time in the city of Berlin. I arrived in Berlin around 6:00. Getting off at the first train station that said Berlin, it occurred as I stepped away from the closing train doors that there was no Joscha Podlesney. Without a wifi connection to save my life and feeling the lingering affects of my illnesses I wandered around the Sudkreuz attempting to find my German friend. When it became apparent I was at the wrong train station I went straight for the phones. I [View Full Entry]

I must say that as I stay in Austria longer, I become more and more impressed. To update my readers of my travels in this beautiful country I will start from the 25th. The 25th I did a whole lot of nothing. I slept most of the day nursing a bit of an upset stomach (draw your own conclusions) Because I had stayed up the night before tazen (dancing) with Anna and Mateja I was very tired. RANT (Pardon me Techno lovers, but Techno really sucks when you take a GOOD hip hop/r&b song and put it to the house [View Full Entry]

I had planned to write an entry last night before I went to bed. However, because of the time change and my inability to sleep I was unable to do so. I will fill you in though, don't worry. I arrived in Austria approximately 30 minutes late from my layover in Paris to the loving arms of Mateja and her mother. My inability to sleep in the plane was caused by my growing excitement as I closed in on my final destination and my infatuation with the book "The Mainspring of Human Progress" I came into Austria, drove with Mateja and [View Full Entry]
