I love you, Mom

wow hey! Looks like this is an amazing trip....i think that Eurpoe in general is an amazing place, and there's so much of it! Well, glad to know you're having a good time....have a safe trip back!
sounds like you've had a lot of fun! and partied european-style hah :) the pictures look very beautiful but why did you take a picture of a picture/altar in the church? j/w
comment yeah, i dunno what to say really. sounds like you're having a lot of fun. i've been reading this but i never have intelligent commentary to provide.
OH. but mussels. i've never really had mussels that i enjoyed in the U.S. only in the philippines. sometime i'll have to eat them in france.
and the picture of you on the bike made me lol for some reason. =)
Hi ! Nice one :). Especially i liked the part when you said '' I had to wait to use the restroom until the train moved away from the station and I must say it was one of the most wonderful relieving of bladders I have ever experienced.''
Anyway, despite the disorderedness and confusion, it sounds like your trip turned out well :)
Hey Bobby - sounds like your having a great adventure! I'm proud of you for having the guts to take this trip. Have a great time, be safe. Look forward to seeing you when you get home.
Mr. G
sport spielen means simply "playing sports"
I love not doing touristy stuff. It's fun to go places and see things, but I tell you Brad I have learned SO much German in the 2 weeks it's crazy They really are following the election and yes people had heard of Obama before the speech. Thats why 250,000 people showed up to hear him speak. It was huge in Berlin. Joscha sometimes watches the news in English just to keep in practice. It's part of their basic cable set. It's so surprising the number of people in Germany who speak English. Everywhere I go they speak to me in English. I respond in German as best as I can, and with Joscha's help I am a quick learner.
I'm glad you are enjoying these Brad, most days I am so exhausted I can barley write :)
I have a lot of them that are halfway completed right now, so this is kind of for me to show my friends whats going on and it's kinda for the end of the trip for me to go back and remember all the fun times.
hi again What's Sport Spielen? That intro was awesome.
It's funny that you're going to foreign countries, and mostly you're just hanging out with the people rather than doing touristy stuff. It's also cool, though. You really do have some good friends over there. :)
Is table tennis actually a different game than ping-pong, or do you just mean that you were totally out of your league?
It's interesting that you were aware of Obama's speech and all... was that a big deal over there? Before he made it, had people over there heard of him? Are most Germans really following the American Presidential election?
Do they usually watch CNN in English, or was it just for your sake?
It sounds like you had a good day just chillin' after just getting there. I look forward to hear what happened the next day (well, I guess that's today, actually).
Gosh, Bobby, this is so cool! What an adventure, getting lost in a foreign country! That would be so awesome.
Good for you that you get to see Joscha. That certainly is awesome. He's a good guy. Tell us how he's doing.
response Wow, Bobby. This is awesome. It's so beautiful. You really sound like you're having an awesome time. I almost missed this entry at first, though, 'cause it screwed me that it came *before* the previous one when you told everyone you were sick. You might want to be sure to tell everyone to check it out in the next one you post.
It's such an awesome experience that you feel so much a part of the family. And to hear you say that that was the best party you've ever been to, that's really something.
I would love to see little Mario act like gangsta according to your direction ;).
I envy the thing you say about natural light... gosh, I wish Americans did that more ;).
And definitely, yes, you have some *amazing* pictures. That looks like a wonderful place. Interestingly, a lot of the landscapes remind me of Philmont - the breadth of the sky, the dominance of the sun, and just the general majesty of the mountains and valleys. It is too bad that I couldn't come.
A few questions:
What language do you usually use talking to people - like with Mateja's siblings and extended family? Are you able to communicate pretty well now in German? If her uncles or whoever asks you something in German, do you feel like a lot of pressure to be able to respond intelligently in German?
Oh, and what's it like for all the people you're writing about to read these posts? Do they even read them? It would be interesting to see whether they were surprised by the things you found notable and those you didn't.
I'm sorry I haven't read this for a few days. Anyhow, I'm gonna go on and read the other two I haven't read yet, so expect more comments.
fed and Hello from KY Many thanks to Joscha's mom for feeding you and having you as a house guest! Glad to know that you are sleeping well and hope you are feeling better. Say "hello" to Joscha's family from your kin in Kentucky. I love you, Mom
Awesome Bobby: Just "soak" it all up. Austria is beautiful! Take all the pictures that you can for future reference. Looking forward to keeping up with your travel! Love you!KK
2 Questions Yes I took my laptop, but I might have Anna take it home with her when she leaves Austria, its a bit cumbersome.
