I enjoyed reading your blog I was looking for information about Alabama on this blog to my blog and I really enjoy with your comments. Congratulations!
Beautiful pictures Great blog entry, and I LOVE the pictures you took of all the animals! I am going to Kenya in November, and was just browsing some blogs of people who have been to Africa. Just thought I'd comment your pictures! :)
kids Jami,
Would you give your own children things they don't need just to please them? Food, water if you have it to spare, sure you would give those things as needed. "No" is a word we use in love as well as for discipline. How do you handle those situations with your teens?
Hey, we miss you come home soon
Dave
Wowzas! So, I finally caught myself up! Woo Hoo! I'm so glad you're feelin' better and gettin' back into it. How much longer are you there? You should keep doing Highlights and key points...and corny jokes:) I have a harder time reading online anymore. Imma get me some glasses when I go home in August.
Prayin' for you and everyone there! Thanks for being so faithful in your serving, relationships and bloggin!

Kagame & RPF I recently returned from Rwanda and I too was struck with the rapid restabilization and economic growth that the country is experiencing. What the RPF did in 1994 was commendable. They saved millions.
However:
Rwanda is a police state today. People aren't allowed to be anti-RPF; they don't discuss politics often at all. Much hatred still simmers deep in some Hutu-Power supporters' hearts. If you get a chance, try visiting Nyamata or Murambai. The docents there will tell you about the threats they receive. The RPF has also committed many atrocities since 1994 (see Kibeho).
A deep rift still exists in Rwanda. Thank god they have a powerful government who is able to keep is stifled, but it's still there, and someday it will reemerge. When Kagame dies the FDLR will invade, and many Hutu Power supporters from within the country will rise up and fight. It's a sticky situation. Both sides have committed great atrocities.
Enjoy your stay in Rwanda; it's a beautiful country! I would recommend heading up to Ruhengeri and the Verungas.
spelling test hey friend!
so, just thought I would comment on the plural of "bus" - there are exactly two (2) "s". Buses...I'm kind of surprised that with all of your massive amounts of knowledge that this was a point of debate...
sounds like you're having a blast...I wish I was there.
blessings!
Barbara Please say hello to Barbara from us....what a wonderful picture of how God is using her mightily in Africa! Wow... she is an amazing woman walking out just how Jesus loved those around him! Tell her we are proud of her!

Happy 4th Smith,
Glad to hear that all is going well except for the chewy milk. Uncle Dale put on quite a pyro show last night on the Pend Oreille River. Lots of bang, sparkle, and smoke.
We miss you and are praying for you.
Love ya, Dave and Annee

Frick, i checked. burkina faso was the one i missed that was driving me CRAZY and I'm just realizing i was so wrapped up in that i forget lesotho and swaziland. plus comoros, and sao tome and principe.
Mom again I ran out of room but also wanted to say that I am so proud and impressed with your work on the show! No wonder you wake up each day happy to go to work.... I would think that even with being tired or having tech troubles you see those sweet faces and your day brightens. Love you, Mom
PS I tried not to look at the excellent lighting as separate from the show because you told me I'm not supposed to---but I did.
Amazing Show! The show was so amazing! To watch the kids work so hard and share so much with us in the audience was very emotional. I became so attached to the children as they sang and danced and shared their lives with us. Jeremy loved the drummers and sat on the edge of his seat to see it all. We loved meeting some of the kids after the show---it is hard to imagine that they are around Jeremy's age and so far from home and making such a difference.
Jami-
Woo hoo! You did it! The first show! There is something about just getting to that point....good , bad or otherwise....you just have to get there! I am proud of you....have been praying all week for you....I believe in exactly how God wired you and gifted you! Keep leaning into Jesus.....keep learning....keep loving those God places in your elbow space each day. It may not seem like it at the time...but it is a gift. Can't wait until Sunday! Love ya friend!
