Day 17: April 22 - ENGLAND - London, TURKEY - Istanbul Accommodation: Hotel Eris, Istanbul After my short stay in London and seeing nothing but the hostel and whatever I could from my Tube ride, I was back to Heathrow for a third visit already, and all set for my flight to Turkey. Day 16: April 21 - ICELAND - Reykjavik, ENGLAND - London Accommodation: Globetrotter Inn Hostel, Hammersmith, London I woke up around 11am or midday, packed up my stuff, then carried my bags to the nearest hotel where I was to book an airport shuttle. Day 10: April 15 - Reykjavik, Geysir, Guilfoss Accommodation: University of Iceland residences (Couchsurfing.com) So today was the first day I was going on a tour in Iceland, which I booked on the internet before I left Australia. The jeep usually picks up at hotels but I gave the address and they said they’d pick me up at 8:30am. So I got out there a bit earlier and I waited and no-one showed up. Day 8: April 13 - Toronto Accommodation: Global Backpackers Today was the last day of my trip in North America, and I didn’t have any major agenda again today so I took my time. Day 7: April 12 - Toronto, Niagara Falls Accommodation: Global Backpackers So here I was in Canada. I figured I’d get my Niagara Falls tour over first off just in case I ran out of time later on and missed out. The bus picked me up from the hostel and drove about 1½ to 2 hours on a freeway down to the town nearby to the falls. I couldn’t believe how touristy it was, and all the prices were displayed in US and Canadian dollars seeing it was so close to the border. First stop was Niagara’s observation tower, the Skylon. Day 5: April 10 - New York City Accommodation: Manhattan Inn Hostel Time to head back to NYC on another American Eagle flight. I arrived back at JFK around 12:30pm expecting to get back to my hostel soon after with no real agenda for the rest of the day. Waiting at the subway station to head back to Manhattan was taking longer than expected. Every 10 to 20 minutes a train would roll in and it wouldn’t pick up passengers. Day 4: April 9 - Washington DC; Arlington, Virginia Accommodation: DC Hostel It was time for my 3rd flight in 3 days, but this time it was only a short 1-hour flight with American Eagle. The plane was only a 38-seater (or closest to that) and it was only half full with mostly businessmen with suits and laptops, and here I am sitting in corduroy pants and a jumper with my mp3 player.
