We really have to drink a beer together and have a long chat. When are you going to visit Lithuania??
Danny
:) No, London`s not bad at al!!! Thank you for your support, Sam, it really means a lot to me. I know Colombia will always be a part of me and I also know I need to move on and see what other challenges are out there for me :)...I`m getting used to London and actually grow to love it every day a bit more. It`s not that bad, after all!! :))
life is about choices... Mona, I really liked this blog entry! I completely agree with Fabian but understand your situation... I know how much you love Colombia and especially Medellin... on the other hand it's your rational side that tells you to stay in London... Nevertheless it's not such a bad place to be, isn't it...? Good luck with your choices in life! Your Colombo-European friend, Sam
Medellin, the best city ever Medellin is full of charismatic people, is a vsery prety city and it can offer you a great time there!!! You'll find nice places to go and rest, to hang out with friends, to have parties, or just to chill out!
In December, the city is full of lights and colors and you can't miss it.
Visit Medellin! and I assure you that you'll fall in love with it: La ciudad de la eterna primavera!!!!
I felt sad reading this entry.. I remember talking about this..going to Colombia. I was sure we can go there together. I really want to be there in January 2008 and I was hoping we can enjoy the city together..uffff....how youth passes by so fast and leaves us bitter-sweet memories...uffff....sometimes the same thoughts as yours run through my mind and drive me crazy for hours. I hope your choice of settling will be the best and I am sure you will be a great Primary School teacher. Good luck, my dear. p.s.: I promise to write in my blog more...I did not have internet access for some time..
thx N. thx N. , I`m 100% sure u will, and not only Colombia, but all South America , that`s a promise I make to myself. For now I just wanna stop living in the past or for the future and enjoy the NOW and call England for now HOME. Thx for reading me.
how sad! i thought you were going back! i guess you chose rainy England over sunny colombia JK, i guess it's your decision but it's kind of sad.. oh well, i'm pretty sure you made the right deicision and if that's what's gonna make you happy..then stay! i really hope i get to see(some time in the future) a post from Colombia... good luck mona!
thank you! Thank you for the message, Fabian it means a lot to me, yes, it is about making choices and hoping that we do make the right ones, the ones that will make us happy, but I guess in the long run, only Time will decide if these decisions are the best ones...let`s keep our fingers crossed :).
wise girl... hi pinky,
good morning from frankfurt! i started the day at work with your post :-)
i can so much understand your situation because i had to decide myself about going abroad again after turkey or getting myself a good job in germany. and since i am also turning 27 in may, i also decided to stay... so i think your decision is a good one. and i do not only think, but also hope so, after all, i made the same decision :-)
but anyway, it is not a decision for the whole life, you can always go back to colombia, you can always go back to travelling and partying and whatever. the only point is that many things are much better when you´re young, like travelling, studying,... but you are young only once and can´t do all of them... i guess this is one of the challenges of our generation, making the right choice what to do with those years...
santa fe I also have been to santa fe -- 2 weeks ago I was in La Ceja -- and went to mass where the monks were -- and there were more horses tied up outside the church than cars!! La Ceja is a typical rural Colombian town up in the mountains outside of Medellin - about 25km from Renegro..

colombia I am fortunate in that I travel to Medellin from Miami once every two months for about 8-10 days. The people and life there is incredible and one day I plan to move there. I like El Rodeoderio on the coast my Santa Marta but I have been getting to know Medellin and the weather is incredible in Medellin. As a gringo knowing very little spanish I find very little problems getting around in Medellin..

Gracias Hola, I was born in Medellin Colombia and brough to Miami when I was only 11 years old. Now I am being force to go back to Colombia since my
immigration status is no taking me anywhere. I have been so afraid of making this decision, of course is like going back to an strange place. After reading your colombian secret I feel this huge reliefe, thanks again... I hope to be able to find a job and a happier life. I am tire of the fast-life that makes you lonley... Have fun chica!! I love shakira too...
my former job... It's so random that I saw this post, because I was looking for the school's website as I taught there in 2004-2005. I was the Kinder teacher with Tati, and my group is now in...Primero I think and the group you were with is the year younger than mine, so I got to know a lot of them really well. Anyway, it was nice to see your site and this post because I really miss the school, the peopke, and especially the kids.

This blog is an account of my travels, my experience living abroad, starting with Turkey in 2004, straight after graduating from university, my teaching internship in Colombia for a whole year and my 2 years spent in London where I signed up for several Teacher Training Development Courses and even tried a little bit of Marketing.
I'm back in Romania where I set up a small language center which is now (2014) a Cambridge Exams Authorised Preparation Centre. I literally invested every penny I had in this project, putting all of my energy, dedication, passion for languages and know-how into pr... full info
