The weather has not cleared up. It is such a bummer. But at least it is not raining. It is now Thursday and I leave today! The past three days I have spent meandering around Hong Kong Island and yesterday my cousin and I went to Macau. I walked around Hollywood Road in HK and browsed through many different galleries. I visited the Man Mo Temple, which has a ridiculous amount of insence, not for those with dry eyes, and the Wong Tai Sin Temple in Kowloon, the biggest temple in Hong Kong. I hopped on a trolley and rode through [View Full Entry]

So you may be surprised when I say that I was one of the last people off the plane...I know I know, so not like me not to rush off and run to get to the front of the line at customs. But I figured I should learn to not have to rush everywhere. So I took my sweet old time getting my stuff together. I did take a few pics out the airplane window, but I haven't taken so many here yet. And I'm not in any. I guess that's the only thing that sucks is that it's difficult to [View Full Entry]

Well the journey to the airport was a bit of an adventure. In typical packman form, we turned on AM radio to see if there was any traffic on the way to the airport from my parents house. None. Except for on the East-West Turnpike extension which doesnt affect us going to the airport....that is until I missed the turnoff!! I was only maybe 20 feet past the exit and could have reversed but with 18-wheelers coming on I decided to go straight and try to make a U-ey somewhere. Well that somewhere ended up putting me in almost an HOUR [View Full Entry]

I am TOTALLY going over the weight limit with my bag. I have brought next to no clothes as you will see in my pictures I will be wearing the same things every day! But its the toiletrees and essentials (i.e. medicines, water purification system, CAMERA, laptop) that has added SO much weight and takes up a great deal of space. I ended up having to take one more bag...but we'll see how much of a pain it is to lug around. I will toss or give away whatever I am not using. Honestly, it doesn't even feel like I am [View Full Entry]

HOLY (explicit). I've spent the last two days packing. I think I am pretty much done. Well I guess I have to be since the movers are coming 9 hours. I have a ridiculous amount of stuff...I can't even admit to how many boxes I have! I've had a whirlwird of a past few weeks. Between weddings and being out of town and having friends in town...time has just flown by and I am amazed that my flight is this Friday. I've been keeping myself EXTREMELY busy the past few weeks. As much as possible...double, triple booked friends in the same [View Full Entry]

I am four weeks away from take-off day, Friday, September 14, when I leave for Hong Kong with a one-way ticket I bought. I will be staying with my cousin Sandi, whom I have never met, for the four or five days I am there. From Hong Kong I will be flying to Bhutan, a small kingdom nestled in the Himalayas. I will actually be flying to Bangkok on September 20 for the evening to catch my early morning flight to Paro, the only city in Bhutan with an airport (it opened for the first time in 1989). I will be [View Full Entry]
