OK, i guess last story, unless NYC will prove really interesting. Writing this I am 10 hours b4 leaving South America to NY. You can imagine (or probably not...) how i feel...happy, sad, confused, well, part of the experience, isnt it? What have i been doing ? Flight from Galapagos to Quito. Again shocked at the western level of Quito. Actually a good way to get accostomed to the west again. So Quito: teh best thing about it is that its more or less in the middle of the road for all places, so I could leave my big bag in the hotel and go for a week or so every time, with only the small bag. The hostel appeared to be a Israeli colony, which was again a new experience for me, as i havent ... read more

Hi all, well one of the highlights, of course, Galapagos. I am now after 2 weeks in this enchanting place. 8 days cruise, which was the top, and the rest by myself or a short trip. So arrived first from Mancora, Peru to Guayaquil, the financial heart of Peru, and was in real shock. The biggest and newest cars i have seen in south america. My image of Ecuador was that of one of the poorest and most simple country in soutrh america. Well, not anymore...and neither the prices...And he city itself aboninable. But weel i had to stay here a couple of days, which were not that bad, especially the Iguana Park was really amuzing and entertaining. The hotel too was a great place with some cultural activities going on. And met at the hotel ... read more

Hi Guys, Long time no speak, write, read. So already in the Galapagos, waiting for the boat, so i think its time to summarize a month and a half of Peru, b4 i forget where and what i did.... Due to different reasons this is really going to be mostly facts and no stories, especially because otherwise i will have to spend a month here at the pc. So I left Cusco to go across the Andes, a very untouritic route, as everyone leaves to the coast from Cusco. Indeed i didnt see even one tourist. The bus went via somewhere until Ayacucho, a cute Inka city. This was 18 hours. No pictures. Stayed there 2 or 3 days doing less than nothing and went on 10 hours to Huancayo. Both routs, to Ayacucho and Huancayo, ... read more

A month or so later. Couldnt leave Sorata without staying at the wonderful camping there. The owners are a wonderful couple, the camping itself a paradise...So stayed 5 days there in my tent, had as neighbours 3 Israeli kids and a very sweet couple from New Zeeland. Also joined me some llamas, a cow, some geese and lots of hens. Spend the time reading and walking, celebrated my birthday with some of the neighbours sitting around the fire. Next was time to go back to Cusco, to work with the street kids a bit more and enjoy this beautiful city. Not feeling like spending a night on the way i decided to do it in one time. Meaning: A taxi to the centre of Sorata (20 minutes, from camping) , to take a minibus to somewhere ... read more

So last catch up and then I´m thru...This story will be about the period (more or less) april 1 to may 7 . From Cusco,Peru to Yolosa,Bolivia (29 march to 24 april, mas o menos) As u understood, or not, as Tova had only 3 weeks for the whole trip,we had to get to Cusco, Peru very quickly, which made me skip Tony´s house in Bolivia. So after 2 weeks in Cusco I returned back to La Paz, Bolivia, to continue to Yolosa, where the house is. This meant: 1 15 hours terible night bus, with border crossing where they started to strip me and my things (scary!!!), asking me about money and drugs, until I, very angrily, told them i was wroking with the polis in Cusco (which was half true, as that was my work with ... read more

Hola todos! Well I stop counting how delated i am with the story, but now 22-4 i think i am more than a month beyond and almost leaving Bolivia again to ruturn to Cusco...Hope you can still follow... ??? Anyway, what happened since? I left you at Copacabana, on the border between Bolivia and Peru. We took the bus from Copa to Puno, which lies at the shore of the Peruvian side of lake Titicaca. Puno is simply a city, and except for the fact that we had a terrible hotel and many difficulties in arrangements, there´s nothing to mention about it.... Titicaca As some of u know, 4 years ago, during my first trip with Marco, We went to the Amantani Island, and stayed at the house of a local family there...(For poor Marco its ... read more

So next delated story. We are now beginning of March. After the great bus ride from Uyuni to La Paz. La Paz has remained like 4 years ago: one big market, spreading on kilometers. We stayed in a hotel in the very center, with nothing much to tell about. After the Uyuni adventure our aim was to relax, eat well (and we did, mainly in the restaurant I frequently visited with Marco 4 years ago: Angelo Colonial. Now Tova became addicted to it), and decide whether we dare to do the Choro trek or not. Descending from 4800 to 1400 meters in 3 days seemed to my knees not very appealing. Tova had her reserves on the account of general fatigue and bad condition. But well, of course at the end we did it. Us with ... read more

Already in Peru, 2 weeks later I Am really behind. With Tova gone i´ll try to put things right... So we're talking +/- 1-3 to 5-3 2009. From here on it´s going to be a couple of weeks with Tova, which is now already back to Tel Aviv. For me it will be mostly places i´ve been to 4 years ago, when first visited Peru and Bolivia. But this did not make it less beautiful. So after San Pedro it was time for Bolivia, the lakes and the big salt lake, Salar de Uyuni. Altitude: 4900 meter to 3600. The big news, which was not allowed to be published, was Tova fainting, very much because of the height. This happened right after visiting some lakes, and getting to the bubbling geizers. Tova already felt week for ... read more

A short one. I´m really behind...Am now a week later than San Pedro (in La Paz now), so will just tell u a bit and leave the rest for the pics. San Pedro is cute, though a bit too touristic...Yet, I loved every second here. Around the village lots of desert nature. I felt like coming home, like the time i stayed in the Sinai desert in Egipt. (a couple of months, when i was 17 and 18, and the Sinai was part of Israel). Next to relaxing i had done a bicycle trip to some ruins and a more primitive village, ending riding the bike in a canyon, alone. That was great! Next, TOVA came, my sister in law, kind of, and that was a great reunion. After relaxing the day after she came, we ... read more

OK guys. I´m afraid we´re turning now from places to people. Dont have amasing pics to show you. Hope u forgive me :-) So am now in La Serena having a break on the way to the far north San Pedro de Atacama where Tovale will join me. I havent seen a hotel for almost 2 weeks now. NIEBLA The first place i stayed at was Niebla, a small village at the sea, next to a bigger city, Valdivia. I landed, thru a travelsite on internet (for people who offer their house free of charge for travellers or look for such), in the house of German, a 25 year old Chilean guy. This was the start of a totally new experience. No more touristic sites, no conversations in English with tourists, but 24 hours a day ... read more
