Hi me again, well more then anything I'm writing this blog to remind myself of the time I had in ROme in many years in the future because as times go it was quite a good one. Anyway we (me and Emma) had an early morning flight to Rome and then train ride from the airport to the city centre where we dropped our bags off (at the train station) and then headed straight for the Colleseum and were there by about 12. As soon as you come out of the metro station by the Colleseum theColleseum is there right in front of you and is quite impressive although the amount of people milling about there is also quite impressive. Within a minute of leaving the station we were approached by someone trying to seel us ... read more

Hi guys Ok here goes. After my last update we had our trip to Hampi, in which the whole trip just seemed to be a big effort. We met at 5.0 got rickshaws to the bus station and then jumped on the bus. At this point we then got shouted at by the driver because our bags were taking up to much room. After some friendly words we tried to pile the bags as high as we could. It was meant to take 3 hours to get to the Bangalore, but ended up taking nearly 4 to get to the wrong bus station in Bangalore. It was then just a short task of realising that autorickshaws were too expensive in Bangalore so we had to get the bus, waiting for one bus to push start another ... read more

Hi Time for another update I feel, so here goes. The next morning we all left to go back over to Fort Kochi for a look at the sites. We got the expensive 2 rupee boat over and then another 2 rupee boat (as we got on the wrong boat to start with) to the fort. We started off by going through what looked like a small med town to the synagogue which was ok to look around but there wasnt to much there in there really. It was then a short walk to the palace of Fort Kochi which again was not too impressive, though Michael got told off for telling us what things were (as that meant we didn't pay for a guide) and Alex got told off for taking a photo and they ... read more

Hi. Well lets try to get up to date now then. We got off the train then into some rickshaws to take us to our boat. They took us to their "friends" who had a house boat they would rent out to us, and they did not understand that we had a boat already booked. Once they figured out we wouldn't be buying anything we were on our way to the boat again. It didn't take much longer to get their, then about 5 minutes later we were on out boat through Kerala Backwaters. The Kerela backwaters are a group of manmade islands in the middle of a lake. With all sorts of greenery on the islands. It kindof feels like one of those places where people might never leave through there entire lifes (we are ... read more

Hi Well its been a few days since my last update and a lot has happened, so here goes. After I last updated we all had a couple of hours to kill before our train to Varkala, so a group of us went to get a tea then I went to get my flip flops mended, which was surprsiingly easy from a lady sitting by the side of the street for 10 rupees. It was then a short walk down to the station, our train was already in the station and on time, but there was a bit of confusion over the beds as the Indian railway network in their wisdom had decided to change everyones bed numbers, so after some friendly disscussions with the locals we all got sorted and were good to go. I ... read more

Hi again Well I'v ended up with an hour to kill this evening so I thought I would add another blog already. After I last updated I headed back to the hotel and then we all went for dinner at a local resturant. Then we had a few drinks, and a few more, then the bar shut so about four of us and one random person we had met went on an alcohol hunt, in the end we found one bar that would serve us but we couldn't drink there. So Alex did some dodgy backroom deal with them and we headed down to the beach where we met some more random people having a camp fire. So we all hung out there just chatting for a few hours which was pretty cool. First thing in ... read more

Hi Lets start already then. I'v been in India for two days now and its been another interesting experience and completly different from the north which I was not expecting. I left Heathrow pretty much on time on Saturday morning and landed at Chennai jusr before 1 on Sunday morning. After clearing a surprisingly busy airport for 1 in the morning I got a taxi into the city. However a boy showed me where to get a taxi and then wanted a tip, but I told him I didn't have any small notes but that was no problem as he had change for a tip. The taxi had a mercedes badge on the front which I can guarentee you was not an original feature of the car. On the way to the hotel I didn't have ... read more

Hi Well the morning after I last updated (which feels like ages ago now) I was going Zip-lining in the rainforest. We left the hotel just after breakfast and headed out to the zip lining site. Most of the group (all apart from 2 were doing the zip lining. We all got harnessed up and walked up the hill to the first platform. Now these were not like the zip lines that are in playgrounds when you are a kid. These are a few hundred metres long (the longest was 600m) and apparently about 400 metres in the air. I was the first to zip the first line and it definitely the best zip line I have ever done. We did a few of these, one in particular was extraordinarily long and quite steep so got ... read more

Hi from a very wet Costa Rica One thing I didn't mention on my last blog, as I did not think it would be important, is that I got what I thought was a blister on my foot. The day after I last updated we had an epic travel day which involved no fewer then five buses, two taxis and one border crossing. We started of with a taxi ride to the bus station with a much more relaxed driver then the night before. We then got on a bus towards the border but we had to change buses half way . The border crossing was very easy with our tour leader taking all our passports to imigration and the officials did not even look at us. Then we were in Nicuragua. Then we got on ... read more

Hi Well I seen to have joined quite an accident prone group here and theres a few of those funny stories to say as well. Before I joined the group apparently Helen and Chris had been quite ill and Mark had fallen of a horse or something similar. All thats just for reference so you cann see how unlucky some people are. The morning after I last updated we were up at 6.30 and on the bus to the Bay Islands. Really nice bus, but was still a seven hour journey and then over two hour wait for the Catemaran to Utilla, the smallest of the Bay Islands. The only exciting thing that happened on the journey is our guide got off the bus to buy some Mango and the driver started to drive off until ... read more
