Molly, best wishes for a happy life! LJA
Congrats Molly and Lenin! Your mom's comment is great! She took her eyes off you for a few years and look what you did ---traveled so far away and there you found the love of your life! Hope all went well with the wedding and you all have a great time sharing your adventure with the Peace Corp up close and personal with those that made the trip, the rest of us have to wait for pictures!
Your mom's post just made me tear up a little!! I am also so proud of you--gosh how far you have come..your adventures and all!! And so happy for you and so impressed how organized you are with all the planning!! Lenin is one lucky man! hehe I really enjoyed getting to know him and cant wait to get to know his family and just life in Nicaragua-- oh and to be able to be there for the wedding! My punctuation and grammar is way off on this comment but I am just so excited!
Oh, MY MOLLY, You have done every single thing to make our journey to YOUR WEDDING as smooth and fun as possible! We've followed your blogging and your pictures and talked on the phone with you so many times (but, probably not enough!).
We can hardly wait to get the 'feel' of you and Lenin in "YOUR" spot in the world and enjoying having you show us your day-to-day life over the past 2 years! You've sent so many TERRIFIC pictures that we nearly feel at home already! Ha!! However, we are feeling terribly SPOILED with all set up FOR us. YOU jumped into the Peace Corps ALL ALONE, having never seen the country, speaking no Spanish, knowing no one,...yet you went and you surpassed even your own expectations, I'm sure. Now you have Lenin and 'another' grand life! SO PROUD OF YOU!! SO HAPPY FOR YOU. Wherever you and Lenin's life goes, you'll be fine and we will be proud! Love you!
WEDDING!!! I am really excited. I am planning on coming up on the bus. Do you tyhink I will need reservations at the Hotel??? WOW PAyless??? I havent seen one of those down here yet, but when we lived in Poas there was a K'mart up the road. Not really that was just painted on the side. And they had no clothing larger than a size 8!!!!! )unacceptable=
Wish I was there! Molly, the planning stage is almost over, and then the fun begins! Your wedding will be sooo beautiful and special I know. Just wish I could experience it in person! I would love to know who all in the community is coming...do you expect 50 or so? How many from Lenin's family? Will you have any video taken? I hope you get some rest in the next few days. Won't it be great to see your side of the family!! :) Love to you and Lenin --thinking of you every day....
I'm sorry that you don't feel well Just think, when/if you do get back to the USA, you are going to have an immune system of steel. Germs will literally bounce off your chest and then explode.
We are....... We all are SO SO glad that you're feeling better! What a worry....sick in a foreign world! I'm so proud of the Peace Corps always being there to back you up with any and all health issues!! Our President Obama is still working on the healthcare of our Nation (but BP's mess has screwed up his agenda a$ of late!). Am praying that it'll be "in place" by the time your Peace Corps days are through! You do realize that THIS issue is a + for your new replacement's long-range plan, right? YES,!!!!!! I'll be just PICTURING you in your very own, custom-hand-made-in-Nicaragua wedding dress!! Be sure to take a pic, OK? Love you and counting down the days!!! Mom XOXOXO
conveniences Yeah, I just got my new Norte Americano kitchen put in today with a real faucet and sink and tile counters!!! I cant wat for them to start the bathroom!!!!I guess Im a wimp, but Im not into rough concrete counters!! Sounds like married life is treating you REAL GOOD.I had a virus(?) last month that lasted a month. Havent had anything like that in decades. Let me know how it turns out
Congratulations!! What a sweet surprise!! I have been thinking of you a lot lately, Molly.... What a handsome husband you found. I guess you will be living in Nicaragua! Are your parents and Ben planning to be there for the church celebration??? Is it a Catholic church?? I wish you all the happiness and blessings.
Love and hugs,
Barb and Bob
PS.... I remember when you were born! That makes me feel really OLD.
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!! CONGRATULATIONS and love to BOTH of you!! You both look so very happy and so snazzy (pardon the 'old' word! Ha!).
So,....you are officially now: Molly Beth Baade Mercer de Torrez,...right?? As, in Nicaragua, I would be Sylvia Laraine Mercer Miller de Baade, right?
Molly, the earrings that Lenin gave to you look SOOOO pretty on you! and just perfect for the dress and the day! Please pass this on to Lenin, OK?
Love you, love you! Can hardly wait until Steve gets home so I can share these with him! XO XO XO
Felicidades! Congratulations Molly and Lenin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You two are SO adorable together....and Molly you are beautiful!! Congratulations y mucho buena suerte amiga! Te extrano mucho :)

seed sharing? Hi! I am working on a project in Playa Gigante (it shows up as El Gigante on Google Maps) near Rivas Nicaragua. Maybe you have some pointers on what sorts of seeds to grow? Maybe we can start a seed-sharing system, too! Also, do you know anything about heirloom variety seeds in Nicaragua? I'd love to talk to you about your experience--email me at ktehrlich@gmail.com
Thank you, Molly Molly, thank you for the loose translation to the above song. Yes, sounds like it fits perfectly, huh? No wonder it somehow catches your ear when it's being played!
TODAY is a HUGE day for you and for Lenin! I do SO wish I were there with you today! But, we all wish both of you an absolutely PERFECT DAY for your Civil Wedding Ceremony! We'll be there soon!!!! :) XOXOXO
? ~looks~ nice, but......ha! I don't know "envidia" (or many many others, of course!).
I'll ask Ben to translate the main lines for me,.....or just ANY of it that he can get.
Sweethearts of the night and friends of the day ??
"defiende"......hmmmmm
Well, I can certainly see that you and Lenin will have your Spanish Classes' work cut out for you up here on Spencer Creek Road!!! Can hardly wait, actually!!! xo Mom
gardens Thanks for the info. We are going to need it. We got 2 beds planted the other day, corn and beans up and growing well. Our friend Ramon stopped by this AM to point out that we have had a HUGE hatch of guisanos, so we have been busy squashing them as we dont use poisons. Any suggestions??? Also we learned in the states that a trail of plain old salt around the perimeter (or down their holes, no pun intended) will repel ants. In CR we had them coming up through the floor and this handily put an end to it!!
