You have picked....... You have picked out some terrific samples to show today. I love these. How could one ever pick out "A" favorite picture??? There are so, so, so, many good ones! Ha! Ha! I nearly have the ORDER of them memorized by now!
Guess what?? IT'S SNOWING AGAIN!!! HEAVY. Whoooo-hooooo! What a beautiful winter we've had this year. I just wish that you and Lenin could've been able to truly enjoy the snow withOUT the 40mph wind and single-digit temps!
reading! it{s neat to be able to read again. when i was working I didnt have time, so now Im orgying out!!! a big 10-4 on barbara kingsolver and amy tan. also i just read 11 minutes too. too cool. i intend to read more of him. if you want to read a great travel book read Saving Fish From Drowning by Amy Tan. Also Zorro by Isabel Allende.
3rd world soapbox Hey... I will rant a little too!! You guys have better Internet coverage there than we do here!!! And we have electricity and water MOST of the time. I think part of our neighborhood infrastructure ws damaged in the earthquake last year, though. We won´t get 3g accesss until next month (so the presidential candidates say). The election is next month, too. You just happened to come back during what I was told in Nica was a record breaking cool snap. It was cool down here too so the landlord says. Let me tell you, when you are jetting across Lago de Nicaragua in a skiff in the mist, IT IS COLD! We even had to have blankets on the bed.Wah! At least our wind has died down....
your blog Molly, te quiero decir que me encanta leer tu blog. Cada vez que recibo un e-mail dejo todo para leerlo. Gracias por compartir tu vida, tus experiencias con nosotros. ¡Lo agradezco mucho! Que todo te vaya bien
glad you had a good flight without too much hassle, we were worried. As it turns out we will be in San Carlos, Nica next week. Our neighbors have been wanting to go, so... We will try to make connection for the early April öuting¨" It looks like fun will tell you more next week
Awww hope you both make it back safely, I love all your photos and do you find it weird I still have not been to bridal cave??? So jealous I have to go!!
NOT FOR ME!! NO!! NOT a boring post! I loved it. With my "wearing down" memory, I NEED this kind of stuff to read and reread.
I NEED this kind of stuff to read and reread (um...did I already say that??! Ha!).
Yes, Lenin is a dolly; so are YOU! Wish I'd have taken more pictures. You are SO good about that.
xo
We're hoping...... We're hoping that your flights were uneventful and relaxing. I tried to phone you after your landing time, but I got only a message in Spanish.
Thought maybe I could catch you before you fell into bed at the hostel.
Anyway, good night. We loved having you and Lenin "home". xoxoxo
etc...... Well, your Dad was right, as usual. We have gotten snow. Was just beautiful until the strong winds kicked up again. Is to clear off in a day or 2 and we're to have record lows with the clear skies. Brrrr. Thanks for both of your helping with the snow and the wood and all!
BYE! LOVE YOU! THANKS! Been trying to call you on your Nica phone during your long layover in TX, but guess it can't work this way. :( Dad went ahead and opened your pics from Kodak. WOW! They are just terrific! Yes, hadn't seen the "ice" ones yet --
TOO FUN. Also, short calls this AM from Lenin's Dad and from Tia Leo. Your Dad answered Lenin's Dad's call; I talked briefly with Tia Leo. Both just wanted to know that you guys were OK and that everything was going as planned. Since your arrival time is still the same as originally planned, I just said that it was still good. Also, Favarisio (?? - you understand), called to check on things and try to repay me for postage. I won. Ha! Your plane should take off in, like, 8 minutes. Hope you'll have a good and safe flight! Talk to you SOON! Love you both! Mom
Oh my goodness, Fun Size is so big now!
Also, I am so glad you got home to visit your family for the holidays, and I hope that you and Lenin have the best holidays of your life. So far, anyway. :-)
Love from NZ,
Shannon
I.... I tried to phone you this AM, before turning on the puter. NOW I know why I couldn't get you! I don't know what the message in Spanish is telling me, so I just left a message in hopes that you'd not just get a blank!
We, too, are down to counting HOURS, almost!!!! Of course, your Dad wants to have the honor of picking you guys up at the airport!! Will be there with COATS in hand! Ha! Frustrating last minute teeny things......like, CARPET!!!!!! "IF" it arrives today or tomorrow, Sammy will have it laid before you get here. If not,......then just NOT. :( With all of these projects going at the same time and all trying to beat the deadline of your arrival, I'm just so afraid that you'll see UNFINISHED PROGRESS. I hope that you and Lenin aren't "TOO" disappointed. Can hardly wait!!!!!!!!!xo
And the Iowa variant:
Beans, beans, they're good for the heart.
The more you eat the more you fart.
The more you fart the better you feel
So let's eat beans for every meal!
Because kids up North are even ruder with their playground rhymes. :-)
VISIT HEY... HOW LONG ARE YOU GUYS GOING TO BE IN THE STATES??? WE NEED TO GO OUT OF COUNTRY FOR 48 HRS JUST AFTER JAN 1. WILL YOU BE BACK? OR SHALL WE WAIT TILL NEXT TIME? OR DOES IT DEPEND ON THE WEATHER? IS LENIN PREPARED FOR JAN. IN THE GOOD OLD MO.?
Ah HA!!! Oh, Baby!!!! Believe me!! *I* am just as eager for you to come home and TAKE the kitchen and learn wonderous
things! PLUS,....you'll need to brush up on the proper washing of the dishes with soap and running (HOT) water and a sink that actually drains ITSELF!! Come on up and just ENJOY!! Ha Ha! Seriously, it will be so much fun! Can hardly wait to share my kitchen with both of you! LOVE YOU!
Oh, Molly, These little ones are just as cute and cool and fun as your many students in China, huh? More age variety, though.
So, you're planning to continue teaching English classes when classes resume in Feb.?
What brand are your jeans? Are these the pants that Moropoto's seamstress took in for you?
What does... What does your shirt say, on your picture titled, "walking down the road"? Is that Tweety Bird?? Molly, I often notice that the number of plastic chairs on the porches is close to the number of like on OUR patio; are these chairs hauled clear up from Managua? I even recall seeing them WAAAY up on another mountain on Lenin's folks' porch.
Just curious!
