Yes, we, too, are COUNTING..... We, too, are absolutely, whole-heartedly, 100% counting the days!! Molly, we just can hardly wait to see you and to meet Lenin. I'm so excited!!!!!!!! Hope we're everything that you've built us up to be!! This will be SOOOOO fun! You know, they say "absence makes the heart grow fonder...."; well, IT IS TRUE!! Hope you'll not be disappointed with your whole "home adventure". I'm just expecting that Lenin thinks everything up 'here' is perfect. Well, we're tryin'!!!
Love you!
Have just.... Have just been looking at the above pictures. Again. For the nth time! Ha! Oh, little Puppy and Huesita do look cute.....BUT SOOOO skinny. Seriously, Honey, I've been eying some HUGE luggage for you guys to haul back with you! What, again, is the weight limit? Like, 40 lbs., right? 45? Plus a big ol' bag of dog food! I sometimes (ALWAYS) now feel guilty that we now own 4 dogs and manage to feed all of them. The wild Marigolds are beautiful. Can hardly believe that they smell just like ours. How good is that! The other picture of the wild local flowers.....could you possibly get a closer shot of them? They resemble flowers that I saw growing in a large keg up at condos on Dianna's route! OK. Another entry as I'm out of space! xo
Ha! OK. Thank you for already having the answers to my new questions! Wow -- 200 volunteers in Nicaragua at present????? Guess I had totally forgotten that there were that many of you there all at once! Seems strange since you see ONLY locals and are the only US Citizen there (or, does your counter-part live in your town? You don't mention him much anymore.
Molly, just TOTALLY ENJOY your little luxuries! You've certainly earned every degree of AC, every drop of hot water at your fingertips, and every taste of non-traditional food!
Happy Thanksgiving break to you! Mom XO
GRRRRREAT Pictures!!! Wonderful pictures and explanations, Molly! Speaking of pictures, we received an envelope from Kodak addressed to you. Dad opened it. Sooo,....I looked at them, too. Very very nice. Now, just hurry and come home so you can PERSONALLY tell us all about these!
Love you, Molly. And, thank you for the copy of you two's itinerary.
More tomorrow.
Tell me about where you're staying for this Holiday! xo

Finally,....... I'VE REALLY MISSED YOUR BLOGS, MOLLY! What a wonderfully energetic summary of your year!!
Hey,...new readers, the pictures are so very informative (AND, of course, it is so good to SEE Molly and MEET Lenin and his family through them!
Molly, x's and o's from home!
Mom
Oh, yay! Issues aside, it looks like you are having a fabulous time! You and Lenin look so happy in the pictures, and I'm glad you're getting to learn more about the coffee!
You are an inspiration. (Fo' real, yo.)

the Kiwi version of the Bryn Mawr College Alumni Extension Office. :-)
No..... NO BEANS??? NO TORTILLAS???? FOR AN ENTIRE DAY????? HOO HOO!!!! No 'withdrawals' nothiced yet?
Ha Ha! Guess it really WAS a special day! Every now and then your life down there reminds me a little of the summer that we moved down here and lived in our tent til it was too cold to stay out there! Yep, someday in the not-so-far-away-future, you'll look back and realize what a fun and important part you've played in in the lives of so many others. So proud of, and happy for, you, Molly!
What.... WHAT FUN!! WHAT GREAT TIMING FOR ALL OF THIS INSPIRATION! I'm always so glad that you take the time to put this stuff down in writing. You'll have fun rereading it over the years!
be there soon We get on the airplane Sunday and will be in San Jose Mon. morning...brother Cal is meeting us there...will try to find a temporary roof to rent then travel the country to try and find an area that truely suits us (and that we can afford)...and, of course the first few days will probably be spent checking out the beach areas...much too expensive for our pocketbook but have to get some fun in the sun...may not be able to get up to Nicaragua right away but will visit as soon as possible.
la paz,
los ticos nuevos
GREAT blogginess, Molly! Yes, those words of encouragement were timed perfectly for YOU, huh? Heed them. AND,....HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY,
MOLLY BETH BAADE!! WE LOVE YOU!! Why, it seems like it was only yesterday......................ha! Be sure and let us know how your big birthday meal was accepted, ok?
"And 2 envelopes from Mom". HONEY!!!!!!!!!! Was there a particular COLOR in either??? Any $peccial color??? Like,...aqua,....or red? ENJOY YOUR SPECIAL DAY, HONEY!!!! xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo
nice people Sounds like you're marrying into one fine family...our best to you...I think the two of you will do well...your past references to you and Lenin being best of friends says it all...too many young people get absorbed in sex and get married because of it...if you are going to share space with someone you had best be best of friends or that space will get to be awfully crowded...you can get sex on any street corner...true friends are rare!
Getting close to our departure for CR...heading up to St Louis on the 9th to visit Heather (our daughter) and Andy for a couple of days before heading out on the 11th. My brother Cal is going to meet us at the airport when we get there and chauffuer us around...will probably park our butts in Cartago initially...then wander around the country and see where we want to live out the rest of our lives.
Will do our best to come visit you after we get down there. Will need to get settled first. Need to have a Costa Rican address before starting the "Pensionado" paperwork so will be quite busy for awhile.
nos vemos luego,
los ticos nueves
camera Sorry your camera got stolen...if you can get film down there I have a 35mm I'd be happy to send you (or, if you can wait another month, bring to you when we hit Costa Rica)...don't have a digital camera to spare but if you're a photography nut you more than likely prefer a "real" camera...several lenses with it (zoom, telephoto, etc,)
Chavez Why is it that the U. S. Govt is always trying to assasinate any leader that is for the working man instead of the multinational corporations?????
