Just Checking in Hello Friends,
Great to see it is all still rolling along on the incredible adventure.
Summer is almost here now and I think the worst of the flooding is probably over. Our garage got it last week but it has slowed considerably. I asked Kane to let me know if he needed a hand with anything. Hopefully no news is good news.
If I get a chance, I will "happen to be in the neighbourhood" this weekend. It was cold all week but will warm up tomorrow.
Budd is in town tonight, haven't seen him in a while so am looking forward to some tall tales from his world. It is no turtle beach, machu-poo-poo, or galapagos islands but we manage to make some fun
Murphy's music reciatl is in May some time just after you are back I will get you the date, maybe Abey can make a guest appearance in the group percussion ensemble thing.
Enjoy the rest of your grand adventure!
Love hearing about your stay in Banos. Great flip-flops you have, Abbey. How about that lion! Crawling behind the falls sounds exotic, but I don't think I'd try it. I agree with your parents about the snake, Abbey. Please don't bring a boa constricter homeHave a great trip through the jungle.Love,Mom.
Hi Guys. Great story and pic today. Abbey, u are the most beautiful captian i have ever seen. The pictures are great. You guys look good all tanned up. It won't be long before i will be able to work on my tan. LOL. We are all good here and am looking so forward to talking to you when u get home.
Talk to you real soon. Love to all. xoxoxoxoxo
Ooooo I quickly scrolled down ... didn't look too much.
I m going to save this one for later so I have something to look forward to ; : )
By the way Mist Zack and I are working on a little surprise. We'll show you when you get back. ;)
Fabulous What a great day you had on Turtle Beach. Love your Super poses! I don't know how to start a new paragraph, so be patient with my run-on sentences. The best comment I have heard about the election was today from a University prof. He said that Canadians are sleep-walking through this one.All the best.
Great photos of the wildlife on the Galapagos. Those Iguanas are some big suckers! Reminds me of when Iwas a kid in Shoal Lake and the salamanders came out of the lake and were crawling all over the back yard. My mom wouldn't even walk to the car for fear she would step on one.
What a great trip through the Equadorian country side! Hope you are enjoying fresh fruit and fish. I imagine Abbey would have liked to bring the baby goat back to Thompson. Would have solved your lawn mowing problem! Got you rpost card last week. Think it take about 3 weeks to get here. Also received the e-mail. Still trying to figure outhow to reply. Love you all. Mom.
Galapogos - Day 2 What a wonderful description of things, and great photos. That is one place I have often thought I would like to visit. Thank you for sharing. Abbey and Pauline look sooo happy on the dinghy.
Hello all. So glad you are having a wonderful adventure. I got your postcard today. The ruins are made only more spectacular with the majesty of the mountains behind. Spring indeed has arrived in the north, lots of grass showing, should be at least 12 today. Then tonight freezing rain, snow and windchills for the night at about -18. So stay where you are for a while.
Abbey does Edvard Munch The blog and pictures are great, Harold. Was Abbey doing a rendition of Edvard Munch's Scream in the picture of the Contemporary Art museum?
Panama hat Yes, I now own a Panama hat, but it hasn´t appeared in any blog photos yet. That was a ´Whistler Hat´ which I´m sure wasn´t made there either. Clearly I´m aging. Now own two sensible hats.
A number 1 I think it would have been funnier if you "honored" the naval tradition with a number two.
I had to read that twice to figure out the number 1 as the haircut.
We may have been under the razor at the same time. I just cleaned up with a number one as well (haircut for me too)

Cuenca Restaurant Hi Claire. The Restaurant name is Rymipampa, or something like that. It is easy to find even without the name. It is beside the (new) cathedral (big one), looking onto the main plaza. We ended up eating there three times in two days just because it was comfortable.
Hats off to Cuenca Cuenca looks great (minus the mutant beatle). It looks so calm and peaceful. Interesting tidbit about the "Panama"hat. I thought I spotted you sporting some new fashionable headwear a few blogs ago in the Presidential palace picture. Were those Ecuadorian hats (hmm....that name doesn't roll of the tongue very easily)? A little tmi on the laundry, but that is reality blogging for you.
Spring has finally sprung in Calgary (after a snowstorm last weekend) so we are off to get some fresh air. Happy travels. Maria
thanks for the great post! I love your tips about Cuenca. Thank you. What was the name of the restaurant? What kind of food did you find there?
Happy travels,
Claire
That sounded really interesting. Did you buy a Panama hat? When is the Galapagos tour? Looking forward to hearing about one and seeing the pics.
Had dinner with the Taps last night along with Elaine and Ian Thompson. Good food as usual and LOTS of wine. Could you ask for anything more?
Dear Abbey I know that it is very hot where you are now. But here the weather is getting warmer. Our temp. in Winnipeg is 10 c. today, but it is even warmer in Thompson. It is raining here right now which is not so good for the poor people whose homes are close to beimg flooded. The pictures of you on this hoilday are great, almost as good as having you right here. Much love. Grandma. XOXOXO
