So behind my blogs that it seems to be a bit of a lost cause - however maybe if I make a little effort and spend bank holiday Sunday night on the computer you might slightly forgive me. Apologies also if your email is one of the 112 unread messages in my inbox (I am not kidding). Just chilling back in Essex - had a bit too much to drink last night, even got kicked out of a bar for being too drunk, and I was IN ESSEX!!! I must have been bad. Just trying to find a job at the moment. I have put my CV into a job about 2 hours away on the eastern coast, agent thinks It is promising, need some money to do some more travelling. I keep on looking at ... read more

Its been so so long since I was in Florence, even though I haven't found a post holiday job yet and should have loads of time bumming around with a maxed out credit card, its really hard to concentrate long enough to do this. Florence - was ok (just my personal opinion). It has this lovely river (the Arno) that flows though the city and the historic Ponte Vecchio bridge is the only bridge that Hitler didn't bomb because of its beauty. The bridge has all these shops built along it, which is different. There are also padlocks of every shape and size bolted to any padlockable place, common for lovers to throw the keys into the river to symbolise their love. ahh. The coolest square and orginal muesum to David was the piazza della signoria ... read more

I didn't know much about Rome before going there. I had not even seen Gladiator or Troy. No idea about classical history and the gods or anything. I knew small parts about the history of religion, but not being catholic but a protestant, I missed a lot of things i think. It was an early morning start on transit from florence to Rome. We were made to get on the bust at about 6am. The biggest time pressure was the early closing time at the vatican city due to it being saturday. A somewhat stressfull endevour for our bus driver and tour mates asking if we get a refund if out tour didn't manage to see all of the countries. The last admissions to the Vatican were at 12.20, arriving at 11.45 and the line in ... read more

Italy was beautiful. Not suprising that inspiration seeps from this mecca of art, music and food. They say that you don't apperciate Italy until your older, but it doesn't take a zimmer frame to get goosebumps all over when entering the tomb of saint marco, a fantastically huge and elaborate building. The top cathedrals i visited and in the top 5 places to get admission to, better than the sistene chapel! Relaxing with Kris, Naomi, Gav, Anna & Blaine also a bonus. Its funny that you know all about venice (or venezia), you know its a floating city and you take a boat to get there, but it took me a couple of hours to find out why i liked it so much - there were no cars! It was quiet and relaxing, you could cruise ... read more

Your not in France anymore when prositutes line the main highways under sun umbrellas looking to make someone a lucky man, whilst that man is on transit to the nearby airport. It hits you in suprise and it is damn classy. Particulary the "we don't even need to stop to take off my clothes" aspect of their atire. Wonder if those on arrivals or departures get more buisnes? I LOVED Barcelona!! (not because of the prositutes). It was fantastic. The culture is fantastic wine and fantastic tappas, music and dancing, the colours are bright loads of red). Archictecture is amazing, especially all the Gaudi around the city. The unfinished cathedral particulary spectacular. The city's landscape and lights particularly attractive. The waterfront and beaches beautiful, expect mind the plastic bags when your wading out in the water. ... read more

I suffered a better fate than marie antionette leaving france alive! Even managing to negoitiang 'The Louvre' without getting too lost, leaving beaujoulais without too much toxicity and I could afford to eat in the riveria (well.... just). I was part of a 45 day contiki coach tour that left london to drive through 16 of europe's countries. France was better than anticipated. Way better. I loved paris, even though i thought it would be something i would have to suffer through. For some reason notre dame cathedral struck the biggest chord - even though they only played a crap recording in the bell tower instead of whacking the hell out of the real thing. I got excited insanely excitied looking at the paintings of the louvre. Even declaring Louis XIV my favourite monarch ever after ... read more

After finishing my locum job and having no work organised I decided to book a ticket and jump on a plane the following day. I ended up in Germany being met by Phil and Basti at the Stuttgart airport. They met me with a NZ flag !! So cool to see them !!!! We drove to their home town of tubingen. It interesting driving on german motorways at night, on the right hand side with no speed limits!! Was met by phil's family who all stayed awake to meet me and have a light evening meal. Stayed with Phil's family - his mother Rika, sister Julia, dog Luna and brother Johannes- who everyone calls honey, but i called Joe. I got to live in a real german house and they made me german food. I got ... read more

Many many weekends I ascended on the city of bristol. Met at the train station by Chris (who I met whilst working at Thames Hospital and became our temporary flatmate). Now living in Manchester, we stayed with Chris' parents. Bristol has a possibly extensive history (that I know nothing about). It looks pretty and stuff. The town centre is built on a hill - you get fantastic views of large stone buildings and church spires. No english town centre is complete without a statue of queen victoria and Bristol's is the scarriest that I have seen. With the IPOD plugged in we chose to visit Bath for the day on saturday - paid 20p to visit a garden by the river and bathe in the sun. Visited the bath houses - which were from the roman ... read more

Hey guys - a long time since my last entry. I have been slack slack slack. Apologies. A lot has been happening in Kimmy land. We have had 2 bank holidays (they don't seem to have names), which has meant I have had time away with friends. Firstly for May bank holiday weekend (the first one) I went away with my cousin Rachie and her friend from Melbourne Ruth. We hired a car and explored the south east of england. Staying the night in bed and breakfasts in Brighton and then Cantebury. There are loads of towns a long the coast - Heath was cool with its cobbled streets & Simon the Pieman shop, which consequently had the best Devonshire (but its not called that in Suffolk) Teas. Brighton was really trendy - we had the ... read more
