DAY 407 When I awoke this morning it was hard to swallow, my throat seemed to have swollen to bigger proportions in the night, I knew that Andy and Helen will have gone out first thing, Helen needed to help prepare Eurongilly Hall for the carol service tonight, I wanted to help but I was still asleep when they left. Eventually Andy and Helen came back, I went out to see them but got sent back to bed again, I slept for a little longer but then just lay in bed to read for a while. Eventually at 11.00 I got [View Full Entry]

DAY 406 We were sitting in the Kitchen at Woodstock, all having tea and toast, Robert had already left for his long day and we were just discussing our possible plans, hoping for a productive day, there was all sorts to be done around the house in preparation for the onslaught of Christmas. Helens mobile phone sprang in to life, it was Robert, Southern Cross Irrigation had informed Robert that his parts were in and they needed collecting, Helen asked if we wanted a trip in to Wagga to do this. “No problem” we said, if we phone Jason we can [View Full Entry]

DAY 405 Today we had two hits, Caroline and I hit the shops for Christmas and the Temperature Hit 42.3 Degree’s as recorded at Woodstock on the verandah. So today was going to be another busy day and we had a late night last night so I am feeling a little tired, but Andy brings me a cup of tea, I get up, shower and dress as today is Belly Button Day! After breakfast we are heading into Wagga to see the specialist about Andy’s umbilical hernia, we are hopeful that this goes well, but we have heard on the grapevine [View Full Entry]

DAY 404 My plan for the day is to Help Jason and Robert concrete the paths around Merryville, so I was up nice and early and ready to go by 6.15am. Time is of the essence this morning so we really did need to get a wiggle on before the sun became so hot that it dried the concrete out and it becomes impossible to work with. Robert had taken the mixer attachment and fitted it on to the tractor and drove it down the lane and I followed in the Patrol, we all met at Merryville where work was to [View Full Entry]

DAY 403 What started out as a quiet day actually ended up quite busy, Helen had gone off to school this morning, and we were sitting quietly in the kitchen deciding how we were going to tackle the day when Jason and Robert poked their heads into the kitchen and asked us if we would not mind driving in to Wagga to gets some bits made at an engineering company. We took the pattern of a rod joiner for the want of a better word, it had to be made to fit the threads we had as a sample, and the [View Full Entry]

DAY 402 It was a peaceful night until about 5.00 this morning when the dogs barked, but that must be because Robert and Helen are up and about. It seems that Andy’s dog whispering may have had the desired affect, although a little bit more work on Tiny wouldn’t go amiss. Andy as usual was out before me, but a cup of tea appeared just before 7.00 for which I was truly grateful, I needed to be up and about early this morning as we are heading into Wagga Wagga, with Helen and a huge list of chores. I got ready, [View Full Entry]

DAY 401 Apart from a brief nightmare which woke me in the early hours, we had a relatively peaceful night, but then Susan let the two city dogs out at 5.00 this morning, which created a stir with the farm dogs, so, our morning wake up call was to howling, just like the Hounds of Baskerville. Andy brought me a cup of tea at 7.00 this morning, for which I was truly grateful, I sat in bed to drink it before joining the hive of activity in the kitchen, a feast for breakfast was being prepared, Helen on the bacon, eggs [View Full Entry]

DAY 400 Would you believe it is day 400 today? I cannot quite believe it myself, I had not realised until I sat to type the blog up for yesterday. We had another relatively peaceful night after my idle threat with the rolled us newspaper just before going to bed, well I think so anyway, I did hear a dawn chorus of howling but that either did not last long or I just slept through it anyway! I find Andy and Helen sat in the kitchen drinking tea, Robert too was sat there, unusually late for Robert as he is always [View Full Entry]

DAY 399 A productive day was to be had again today, once we had breakfast, we all set about doing what needed to be done. Andy was up early this morning, helping Helen make the Christmas cake, they managed to get 4 different sized cakes in to the oven. My task this morning was to wrap up Christmas presents, so Helen made little piles up of presents and standing at the dining room table one by one I wrapped and Helen wrote the labels. I don’t know how many Christmas presents I wrapped but it took all morning, some presents easier [View Full Entry]

DAY 398 I have no idea what time it was when I awoke in a blind panic, blind literally as it was pitch black, which I feel that I am not accustomed to, it may sound mad but the night was pitch black, there was no moonlight seeping through the window and although the blind was partially open I could see nothing, I think I was dreaming that there were no windows and I needed air, sitting bolt upright in bed I remembered where I was and found the light switch, I composed myself and eventually I switched the light off [View Full Entry]
