Suggestion for comments about your experience and sharing when you return to California (which is a different mind set). Pick out a couple of things that truly effected you and share them with sincerity. By the by, when I do my weekly shopping at Trader Joe's I take reuseable bags thereby saving a tree. Safe journey home. Look forward to seeing you . Thanks for the great pictures and commentary.

I love your writing and you
Lorpie: You are the best. I'm obsessed and check your blog many times a day. I threw money in the Trevi fountain back in the seventies and returned with you when you were nine almost thirty years later. See it works. All my love, DAD

Camera's do seem to malfunction on a trip of any length. Usually, it is a battery which no longer takes a charge. It's programed so the companies can earn more money, I think. There are disposable cameras that work in a pinch. Itlay will provide photographic fodder which should be captured on film or chip.

Thank you for the pretty photos. They helped make the unbearably hot weather and smoke-filled air from the fire in Griffith Park palatable. No homes were lost or other structures. Wild animals dependent on the food source in the park are wandering into the neighborhoods, such as coyotes and jack rabbits. Will miss your presence this Mother's Day Sunday.

Loved the zoo photos. The tulips are astounding! You get an A plus for your photo composition. Loved the giraffe pix. Giraffes are one of my favorite animals. You look great as a tortoise, but walking might prove to be a challenge. Take care!

Loved your travelogue of Norway. Your descriptions of Norway's beauty have piqued my interest in travelling there one day. By the way, why did you stay the entire 2 1/2 hours for the Mass? Many years ago I went with friends to their friend's daugther's baptism at a Greek Orthodox church in Orange County. The lengthy service in Greek lasted hours (but seemed longer) and was exceptionally painful, since we had been drinking Ouzo the night before. I understand. Nuff said.

Train travel
The travails of travel are endless, but it's how we learn and do better the next time. In Frommer's Budget guides, they state to take twice the money and half of the clothes, you think that you need. Train travel is alot more expensive than one is lead to believe. Purchasing in country second class rail passes helps. One always loses or breaks something on a trip. It's just luck when it is something inexpensive. Sorry to hear about your phone. Be well and enjoy.

Been reading your diary, love to see that you enjoy Amsterdam. Am a student at the UvA too, but having been born and raised in Amsterdam makes me sometimes forget why I love this city so much. Your blog brought it all back, thanx. p.s. - Been reading the comments as well, your cousin Judith sounds very wise, hihi!

Enjoyed your excursion to Delft. I'll have to check several of my pieces to see if they are authentic. I'm enjoying your excursions outside of Amsterdam and think that you communicate very well. One of my former colleagues went to Costa Rica with the Peace Corps. working with women to teach them how to become economically independent. She was there for two years.

Sounds idlyllic
Wow! It sounds idyllic. Will be interested to hear about "The spicy Italian" and "Febo". It sounds like you are having a wonderful time. I've dreamed of being in the Netherlands when the tulips are blooming. We've been having a heat wave, the 90's and mid 80's in the valley and Santa Clarita. Would love a balmy 70. Everything is beginning to bloom, trees, the plants in my patio garden. There is a nesting dove in my hanging pathos plant. Five house finches dominate the hummingbird feeder. I'm putting up a second one, so competition will be reduced. Be well!

You're right
Thanks for sharing those gorgeous pictures of C-rado. You've already seen a lot of the world and probably more than most. Trust your instinct, you'll know when it's time to commit to the 9-5 thing. Don't feel that by doing that your life is somehow restricted. The "job" is about learning, doing, developing life long skills and relationships and preparing for perhaps another chapter in your life. No one can expect that you would have it all figured out at your young age. Do set goals for yourself and watch how those baby steps can lead to achieving those goals.
