Hi Folks, Taking a rest day in a Arnprior Ontario. The trip continues and the theme is rain! It's rained almost every day so far. I don't even bother with weather reports now, if it's raining I pull on the rain suit and ride. New Brunswick seemed endless, but the ride across the Gaspe was beautiful though with a tough wind. I rode along the Matapedia river, a beautiful Salmon river, lots of fishing camps along the way. As would be expected I've met some interesting travelers along the way. A young fellow in Trois Rivieres who was long boarding from St John NB to Vancouver! It was raining of course and he looked worn out!!! Met a fellow from Liverpool who had quit work for a year and had his Yamaha 650 XT shipped to ... read more

Hi All!!! A great time!!! Nova Scotia and PEI, and yes a few miles on the Cabot trail with the famous PEI red dirt. And oh the potatoes!!! Got the shuttle across the Confederation bridge, 12.9 kms long. Unfortunately is was raining and foggy!!! For the most part I've been following the Acadian trail up the coast of NB. It's like being in France, rare to hear English in the campgrounds! My plan at this point is to cross into Quebec and take Rt 132 across the Gaspe Penninsula to the St Lawrence. Supposed to rain tomorrow though, so maybe I'll hangout in Campbellton and see if I can add some photos to this blog. So far the travelling has been great, the people have been great, and the black flies so so, lots of DEET!) ... read more

Hi All! Arrived on Prince Edward Island yesterday afternoon. Had a great time in Nova Scotia, took a couple of days to get some things fixed! The cyclometer is now working, I completely repositioned the sender and receiver (it's wireless). For those of you that know the integrated rear wheel lock on the Koga Miyata, I found out how to remove it! It was heavier than the cable lock I was carrying so the Koga lock was jettisoned!!! And as for the MSR stove, turns out the store where I purchased it sold me the wrong fuel bottle, so I wasn't getting a good seal. After a cold dinner 1 night, I found a Canada Tire store in Truro and bought my old stand by, the Coleman Peak 1. So nice to have a clean stove ... read more

Hi All, Lovin it, Canada is fantastic!!! I'm presently at a campground in Middleton, Nova Scotia. I've been on the road 6 days so far and decided to take a day off. The great owners of the campground are letting me use their computer since the library is closed today. Only a few equipment glitches so far. I never was able to get my Coleman stove to work. I bought an MSR and although it works, I don't like it! Would love to have my Coleman. Coleman is actually going to pickup ( at my mothers place in Maine) the recalcitrant stove to find out what's wrong and they've reimbersed me for the cost of the MSR!!!! My other problem is the cyclecomputer quit working the 4th day of the trip. It'll work for a short ... read more
