daily expenses Forget it. You will not be able to match my daily exp as a PCV on a subsistence atoll. PC paid me $1.75 a day. I saved that and had enough money to buy 3 cases wiskey. None ever arrived on island. Some years latter, my brother Simnera or maybe it was Mopie, they are brothers, and mine also, told me that he had drank one case. Rumor said one case in Yap by Far boys but maybe it was 2. None never arrived.
But this is not a contest to be money free. God bless yourself.

Tuk tuk You think I haven't been looking at these photos and contrasting them with the grey altostratus clouds out my window? I can't stop thinking about how much you'd be kicking yourself if you didn't have that camera these pictures have been astounding, Brendan.
You totally get it now you know why I love Thailand so much. Nothing like it. They all must come to Thailand. I am so so so so so so glad you got out of the city, though Bangkok is excellent as well, in a different way.
Thank you Dear Bren--
It is Saturday am here in CA... the sun is bright and the house is sleeping--except for lil' Mowgli--our new baby dog--and Mickey -our old dog. At nearly 50 years old, I have realized the joy of dog life. These guys create love whenever they appear. They are joyous in their actions and happily share their energy.
Your descriptions and photos delight my imagination. The bright splashes of color on the ancient structures intrigue me. What are the color swatches made of... cloth? You mention the locals--do you see many of them out at the historic wonders and/or enjoying the natural wonders?
Love your writings---Safe travels---Love to you--

Kap Kun Ka. very nice.
it is magical, entirely.
the king and queen have championed the village people, helped them establish various crafts which are sold in special outlets
they are the mother and father (grand) of the people.
every man must be in the military for awhile, and the monestary for awhile. sawaadeka, Bren. you're giving me flashbacks.
Bangkok the road to Angor Wat in Cambodia is just finished being paved, one day trip there, you could spend days there, then back to Thailand..I am more glad that you stayed than I can even express. Without Thailand, the whole East just would be missing something magical.
Thailand Brendan...Did you know that Brad and Martha were in Thailand for a few years ago? I remember Brad being most impressed with Dunkin Donuts - this was after they had been on a remote island in the Philippines. They traveled from there to Chiang Mai and Ankor Wat ( sorry for spelling). They were also there during the most recent Thai coup d'etat. Pretty much a non-event there but pretty stressful back here in the States. Enjoy your time there (sounds like you have that down to a system).
Thailand if you can, see some ruins. Ayuttayah an hour or so north of Bangkok is amazing. The foot massage at sadly named The King and I massage place on Sukhumvit is unbelievable. Unbelievable. One of the better experiences of my life. Just feet. You won't need the prophylactics. and away from the red zone there are normal foreigners...
