welcome to tomorrow Wonderful commentary, BPO. Sounds like this morning here: observing teen clothing customs, noticing reassuring smells, and reminding early morning school kids that "the epidemic situation is nervous, we should have a good mood."
Blessings for your new adventure >>

The love and affection of the saints be to you,
The love and affection of heaven be to you,
To guard and to cherish you.

tim tams have you been eating tim tams? my friend just got back from a quarter studying in new zealand and he introduced us to the "tim tam slam" with hot chocolate: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tim_Tam_Slam
Great I really appreciate the part where u have written about the killings which have happened in Kolkata during the partition .I myself was born and brought up in Kolkata , and I know what you mean , and what we are proud of . We have been unperturbed during the riots which have crippled India on many occassions. Never ever we had thought that we will do the same mistake which our foefathers did.To add to the fact is that Kolkata is ruled by a communist governments who implement their socialistic values amongst their citizens .
Thanks

which Baba? I am not sure which of the two Sai Babas the girl mistook you for, but I think it is the one from Shirdi, going by the picture.

The Sathya Sai Baba claims to be a reincarnation of this Sai Baba, though this is disputed by many.

Hi Hi mate,
I have been following your travel blog for few months India and enjoying it.
I spent 12 months in Kolkata studying many years ago and miss the city so much.
All the best. Do keep writing and entertaining.
danger boy Brendan, I'm glad you are doing well and are not fearful, but are being smart and careful. Remember that mosquitoes are a far greater danger than terrorists in India. Also rickshaws and cars. Also water.

courtesy Rick Steves i found out a fascinating fact today! if the average American quit working for the year on the 23rd of October, they'd work the same number of days of the year as the average European. pretty interesting!
