Wow!
Just read your blog guys. Sounds like a nightmare. When we left you in California we thought you would continue down into South America. But as you say, there are lots of other places to cycle and it has to be fun. Not life threatening. Not wishing to make you feel any sicker, we are having a great time in New Zealand, although the hills particularly in Northland are very steep, but not too high. We are about to head down the Whanganui River road tomorrow. A fellow NZ cyclist told us today that they still eat people down there! Should be fun. Anyway keep those Thorns polished up and get planning your next trip. love Steve and Karen

David and claire I'm the fellow you met at Ace in federal way,wa I'm glad to see you made it that far and finally returned. Keep in mind there will be many roads to travel in a beautiful Paradise earth with many friend to visit and all will be at peace as Jesus said the meek shall inherit the earth and live forever upon it I know you would both like to continue in such an endeavor agape your friend Brian.

Welcome Home
Hi just read your blog - welcome home - even though the circumstances are not ideal - it is still good to have you back safe and sound - a lump in my throat reading and looking at the photo's especially the home sweet home - there will be many more adventures I am sure in the future - you should be proud of yourselves - will catch up when we meet - take care of yourselves lots of love Pauline - put the kettle on!!!!

Glad you're home safe
A war zone cannot be enjoyed by any means of conveyance, and any country whose inhabitants respond with bemusement at the mention of a bicycle trek is probably not equipped with the appropriate infrastructure. We admired your plan, but questioned the moral soundness of cheering you through a minefield. Travelers reach a point when the rush fails to come and are left with stark, spin-free reality. Your US Pacific Coast tour was a complete adventure, and from my perspective, hard to beat. Had I been allowed a final two cents, I would have recommended a Tijuana to Grand Canyon revision (Route 66 detours), followed by Monument Valley and a return trip through Nevada via I-80 -- the loneliest highway in America -- where you might have spotted a UFO as you cycled passed Area 51.

It is so heartwarming to read all of your stories and the amazin photo's also to know there are some wonderful people in the world that will put out the hand of friendship to strangers - all the best from north shields - HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAVID have a wonderful time. Your mam has been in with the receipts today. (18/10/10) It is grey cold and cloudy in North Shields the autumn is definately here - you lucky people keep going!!!!! Lots of Love Pauline

San Diego
San Diego was cool and we had a few beers but we had to get ourselves in order for crossing the border so had lots of housekeeping to do. We were saying that it could have even been 10 years to the day that we were there with you two.. Happy days... Went to 'Hussongs Cantina' yesterday and guess what.. Newcastle United were playing Wigan on the t.v. It was a great bar. Claire thought it would have been very touristy but it wasn't. Bought you a sticker so will post it when we work out the postal system! Love chocolatey & me...

Magnificent post! My parents loved it. (Mom cried.) We do feel a little bad that you left here so late in the morning. As I said to you, you two seem to bring out the best in people, so even on the dreariest days, your luck will surely hold. My list of grammar corrections will follow shortly. (Just kidding.) I noticed photo #31. I suppose that was directed at me. Nice touch. Don't leave Ensenada without seeing La Bufadora (marine geyser).

It's over 1000 miles long (I think) ....thats a lot of wild camping....glad you've thought about it....the whole journey doesn't have to involve cycling ...as you''ve said its about the people you meet and the places you experience. A bus or a train can offer just as much to your expreience as a bike...so don't feel like your cheeting or anything you've achieved more in two months than mosyt will ever do in a lifetime. Hiya you two thanks for the postcard. Definatley think the bikini girls and cuddle nights will go down well back here, I for one am interested (in helping the girls settle in there job that is!!!!!) Hi Carol, I'm glad you're enjoying watching our adventure unfold from the comfort of your armchair! You're right San Fran is amazing. I think we'll be returing in the future to do some serious shopping. Our route takes us down the coast and we'd planned on staying in Monterey so although we're loving our time here we know there's still so much more to see further south. Keep following and take care..
