Hi Guys, One last blog until the next trip of course!! We are beginning to settle into our normal lives after our adventures. Steve has been trawling through our video footage and come up with an out takes video. Make yourself a cup of tea before watching 15 mins of your time required. It is a good laugh. I would also like to share our good news. Paddy went to visit my Mam and Dad for their blessing to marry me. Which he got thankfully. Phew! 21 St April 2012 will be the big day. No big plans as yet other than a casual fun packed day as you can imagine. Take Care Karen and Paddy ... read more

Hi Guys, Last stop Penang in Malaysia to stay at Annie's Guest House for the second time. We knew it would be the perfect place to wind down before the long flight home as Annie, Raj and their family are truly wonderful people. Our last night they arranged a BBQ for us and the rest of the guests. Annie made an awesome Indian Chicken Curry, ( Paddy was the assistant and now has the secret recipe ) the girls were on salad duty and the boys were on BBQ duty. It was a brilliant night, we made two great friends in Laura and Chris and look forward to seeing them after their time travelling and we are not JEALOUS in the slightest that they are at the beginning of their journey. GURRRRR!! Tears upon leaving the ... read more

Hi Guys, Brilliant time in Bangkok. Surprising Teresa ( Steve's Sister ) She thought we were in Malaysia and that Johnny was in Africa, Wrong! I think the video pretty much covers the surprise, check it out! 4 nights in Nana Hotel. Nice hotel but really it should be called Grandad Hotel. It's full of old sleazy guys with young Thai girls on their arm. We stand out being a normalish couple. Outside the hotel the prostitutes are lined up from young pretty girls to horrendous old grannies! We much prefer Koh San Road for atmosphere, accommodation, pubs, shopping and restaurants. After another great time with Johnny, Da, Teresa and Mike it was really hard saying goodbye knowing this time there would be no more sneaking back to Phuket for quite some time! Hi Guys, Vientiane - Udon Thani - Northern Thailand Udon is a lot busier than we expected. I thought we were heading for ‘Sticksville’ and we had great difficulty finding our digs. The tuk tuk driver didn't understand us and then a lovely Thai lady asked where we were looking for. She spoke really good English but unfortunately her navigation skills were not! We walked and walked still no hotel. We asked another couple of people who sent us on a wild goose chase. Just when our patience was starting to wear thin carrying our bags in the intense heat, to our rescue came two Kiwi guys, they had been watching us walking too and fro and offered us a lift in their brand new tuk tuk. The guys new of a cheap and cheerful hotel ... read more

Sabai Dee Guys, Laos - Savannkhet Savankhet is the second largest city in Laos. The architecture is French colonail style. The city is very dusty, dirty and under repair. It is the gateway to The 4000 Islands, Paske and Northern Laos such as Vientiane and Vang Vieng. A lot of people use this city for a visa run as it's so close to the Thai border. Entertainment value not a great deal to offer us other than 2 highlights. The first being a beautiful French restaurant and the second a great floating cafe literally sitting on the Mekong river over looking Thailand on the otherside. One night is sufficient and we are ready to move on. The next stop.... Vientiane ( A long haul over night V.I.P. bus departing Savannkhet 9.30pm ) Now to be fair the ... read more

Hi Guys, Paddy's latest video - which is very informative on things to do in Ubon Ratachani, enjoy! We have had another great week in Phuket. Strange without Johnny being there this time! We can't wait to see you and Da in Mukdahan xxx Next stop a quick flight up north to Ubon Ratchathani. Phuket airport was really busy lots of Q's or line ups as the Canadian's would say! The Q for Ubon was not busy uh-oh!! Only a few Thai people and certainly no western variety of passengers. Just me and Paddy. Off in Ubon we are like superstars or clowns not sure which, as everyone stares and more often than not we get a cheery Hello and then a fit of the giggles as we practice our Thai greetings. When we passed one ... read more

Hi Guys, We thoroughly enjoyed our time on Koh Tao with lots of snorkelling and sunshine. We waved off Pete and Jen as they head north we decided to work our way across the Islands and have one more stop off on Koh Samui before hitting the mainland. The worst bust trip ever. Samui - Phuket Ferry ( Name of the ferry Wang Keaw ) - 1 hour 30min Smooth crossing, warm with a nice breeze. Blue sky with white fluffy clouds. Followed by a V.I.P. bus ( which should have carried us all the way to Phuket ) The V.I.P. bus had 24 big comfy seats with loads of leg room. The movie Yes Man with Jim Carrey very funny and it passed the first hour and a half with ease. Paddy opens his big ... read more

Hi Guys, I can't believe how the time has flown by since the last blog. We left Phuket and went back to the beginning of our journey to Krabi and Ao nang briefly before moving on... Krabi to Koh Samui, Bus and ferry The bus was a dilapidated old thing. The mechanic spent about 30 minutes underneath welding it before we got on but obviously didn't cure the problem as we kept having to stop so they could tinker a bit more. All the time our eyes on the clock for fear of missing the ferry. On arrival at the port our ferry had already gone but as it turned out that was a Godsend. We were taken straight onto a different ferry, a fast boat which reduced the crossing time from 1 hour 30 to ... read more

Hi Guys, Goodbye Bali and goodbye to our foster parents Mike and Veronica. Hello Patong, Phuket, Take 3 The flight into Phuket was great so clear the surrounding islands just look like paradise. Johnny met us at the airport and drove us home. Yeah that's what it feels like now home! Johnny and Da the most wonderful hosts again. I really feel like I have acquired another big brother over here. We have had another amazing 12 days. The weather is even better than last time, it's now high season so blue sky and sunshine everyday. It's a hard life! On our first day we visited The Gibbon Sanctuary, I thought Paddy would feel right at home there. The sanctuary is doing a great job in rescuing The Gibbons from scum bags who have them drugged ... read more
