I am enjoying your pictures. I like the angles and light in the last ones. I am also a person who takes pictures of food. I look forward to the posts

Tara and Brendan Meet Again

One, two ,three
If I'm not mistaken this is the third time you have met Tara...two separate times in this second trip. I am excited for both of you that you can meet for reunions in such exotic locations...and you Brendan ensure she eats very well when you do so.

Tara and Brendan Meet Again

One for the money, Two for the show, Three to get ready and Four to Go
That was how my Grandma Vermillion would start us out for races and such. Your comment made me think of it. Yup, you are so right, this is the third time (and city) where Tara and I have met. As much as we enjoy each others company, I think she enjoys throwing caution to the wind and dining out like a Power Traveler. I really hope that you and Denise will have a chance to meet her.

Quinoa.
I suppose with Quinoa, as with most things culinary, it depends on what you do with it. ( Boiled in water as a breakfast porridge is probably not the best way to sample it.)

I would agree
Quinoa itself is nothing delicious, but when seasoned with a good vinaigrette, cucumbers, tomato, feta, etc., it is amazing. It is also good in soup. For a very VIP dinner I am doing, I am deep frying it to put on top of a salad with goat cheese, roasted red onions and avocado dressing. I have a feeling you might enjoy that. And thank you you for the nice comments.

Going with the flow
Travel does test your flexibility when they toss instant coffee your way. Your hike sounds good. I guess I have to remind Dave to log in before sending you a message.

When he said Lola, I knew
I have gotten used to the instant coffee. Now in Santiago, there seems to be better coffee. That helps keep me going.

Love and Miss my Cooker!
Hi Honey. Just read your blog with a cup of coffee. Enjoyed hearing of your tales, the beautiful photos and your snarky humor! Hope you are having a great time. Text me for some important news when you get home. Travel safe!!

Very interesting
Hi Brendon, thought I'd check to see if you'd started your travels yet, so shall catch up on your blogs! What incredible scenery, your photos capture that vast alien landscape beautifully. The food sounds yummybut can't understand why Quinoa is so popular, I think it tastes fairly nasty and reminds me of frogspawn.

You always always make us laugh
Two helpings of fruit cocktail....oh please tell me it was homemade and not out of a can. Oh well, if it tasted good...go for it. As you were talking about the flamingos being on two legs instead of balancing on one due to the wind I kept picturing cow tipping in Ohio. Strange where the mind wanders. So glad you went to the hot springs. We did that in Iceland and were so happy we did. We won't discuss the ATM. Ah, back to the city life.

*Shaking my head sadly*
I wish I could say it was homemade, or even a good quality, but unfortunately, neither were true. I am glad you had some laughs over the blog. Cow tipping never came to my mind, but I can see where that could pop in. Thanks for writing.

Llamas by the Springs in the Morning

Salt, steam & stars
Your pictures are delightful, your enthusiasm palpable. Sounds like no better place for a natural hot tub under the stars...heavenly no doubt.

Thank you so much
I find that writing just flows when I am caught up remembering a wonderful moment. And that was truly a wonderful one.

Red Lagoon

Great photo!
Love how the clouds are coating the mountains like another layer. Beautiful colors . . . and, sidenote, 3 fruit cocktails total? Brendan, I never . . . :)

Red Lagoon

Thank you Michelle
The layers and colors in this are some of my favorites of the trip. And what can I say? Fruit cocktail takes me back to my childhood.

Green light for Red Planet blog
Great description and unique perspectives. You gave us just a glimpse of the self-confident Chef Brendan in your comment on the meal: \"If I wanted everything perfect, I could stay at home and do it myself.\" Well said. That\'s what some of my guests have probably thought. But they can\'t fault my effort.

like a painting
Ok, seriously, when I saw the first picture of the Red Lagoon, I honestly thought it was a painting! Pictures are super cool, glad you're enjoying the trip! :)
