perfect day
sounds like a perfect day. I have no reason not to get my ass to Santiago as Air Canada flies there and i can get there cheap, cheap, cheap!! Montreal also has the same type of subway trains on tires. Much quieter than hearing steel on steel rails.

another amazing post
The landscape really is Mars-like. I think my favourite part is you describing your soak in the hot springs and looking up at a sky full of stars. That would be a moment i would treasure forever.

pics
i love the pics of you on your hat and the dinosaur!! I do have to make one of these trips with you. I know we would have an absolute blast!!

loving it!
Thanks for taking us along BV but how do I get that damn song to stop playing in my head now?

amazing
Looks like a beautiful city. Someday i will make it there. I had a problem with altitude in Mexico City my first trip there and its only about 7500 feet above sea level. This would be tough to take in La Paz.

how can anyone keep emitting such noxious farts and not go to the bathroom to relieve themselves? Nice to know that even first class passengers have no class or consideration.

:-)
I feel as if we're traveling companions, side by side, strolling about. The best part is I get all the funny tales, beautiful photos, and you pay for the entire trip! Miss you as much as I love you, great big bunches. Cheers.

I can taste the ice cream....
OMG, I can taste the ice cream and hear you moaning about the scallops and veggies!! Maybe this means more to me given I haven't had that type of food in awhile!!! LOL! Glad you are enjoying your last days and are coming home soon. Can't wait to see you!!! Love you!

Easily Amused
Sometimes it is the smallest thing that makes me happy. I'm glad you enjoyed this picture.

Sleeping in...
Love the market photos; and I was laughing when I read about how you enjoyed your late wake up, as I had just said to Andrew that we seriously need a sleep-in soon. Our body clocks are still on Australian time and I keep waking up at 3am. Yey! for being front page buddies yet again :)

Front Page Buds Rock!
I always feel guilty for taking time to sleep in on vacation. Seems like that is the time to actually sleep in. I hope you adjust quickly. Waking up like that is never a good thing.

Smoked Salmon Bagel and Coffee

As good as it looks
It was as good as it looks! Perhaps on a different day, or at home it wouldn't have been as good, but on that day- Yum!

Hi B, I couldn\'t help but think of you standing there in front of all that fresh seafood wishing you had a kitchen so you could buy some and create a masterpiece. Sounds like you had a wonderful bit of down time to relax and recharge for your next adventure. Thanks for sharing and have a great time!

Down time?
Dave here....you do more on your "down" day then most people do on a busy day! We both have truly enjoyed your blogs and feel like we are with you on your journey. MJ is smiling again because the three of us (this is BVChef, Ren&Drew and us) are all on the front page of TB again. Something special about that. Be safe my friend and enjoy these last days of freedom.
18th March 2014

Oh my heck, that's a good point
You're right, after going back through the blog I can see how my down day was actually quite busy. Nice to be sharing the front page with you and RenandDrew. It is fun to be on the road at the same time. You be safe as well and enjoy. Soon I will be winging my way back to home and reality.

Food, glorious food
That looks just fabulous! And I love the photos of Tara and you too... what an amazing time you've had :)

It has been amazing
Thank you for your nice comment. Everything was a fabulous as it looked and spending several days with Tara was an added bonus. We are thinking of making this an annual event. Keep enjoying your travels in Malaysia.

Mutual expansion!
Fab photos and excellent descriptions of our adventures! Thanks to you, I ate better than I have in my 3.5 years of travel--you were an inspiration! And I got you into a museum without you dying--good to have friends to open us up to new experiences. So maybe you should come to Ecuador or Colombia where I might be next year. An annual meet-up?

I even went to a museum here!
You were a good influence on me Tara. I went into a museum here in Santiago all by myself. I am glad you had a nice time and treated yourself. Next year could be a possibility. I like the idea of the annual meet up.

Thanks for previewing the menus for us...
a recommendation from the chef is invaluable. We will have to take Tara to Gustu's! Given the traffic I hope it's not far.
17th March 2014

Traffic or no traffic, I would do
Thanks for the comment. I would wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant. While I was sitting in my lobby waiting for a taxi I overheard someone going on and on about the same place. You are going to have such a great trip. I can't wait to read about your adventures.

Travel Bloggers Meet, Eat and Tour
I have just started to follow your adventures. As I read I pictured that little boy in elem. school as I have not seen you in years. I love the pictures and your description of the foods. You've come a long way from the meat and potatoes of Ohio. What an amazing time you are having!

Great pictures
I love to look over your pictures....give me the sense that I am traveling with you. If being a Chef doesn't work out....LOL....you can always be a travel agent with your worldly experiences! Thanks for sharing your photos and travel stories.
