About 500 mts in water.
A protected marine sanctuary near Abu Dhabi. Never really got the permit from them but just stopped by on the main land side for a quick dip. Beautiful and secluded with shallow waters for atleast a kilometer, but the sand was quite sticky and full of jagged rocks :( All you really can do is take a dip. Good for a bbq and sheesha. Liwa
Quick trip to the desert and quite eventful at that! After all these trips I still managed to under estimate the sands of liwa, got us stuck and out again. Camping never happened thanks to all the damage control. Lesson learnt: Always deflate tyres, even for a 5 foot dune :) Breaking News from the end of the desert: There is a new roundabout at the end of the Madinat Zayed Road, right infront of the Moreeb Dune. For the..... erm... camels I suppose!... read more
