Finally a break in my schedule and I am off to explore the big wide world again. This time to Jebel Hafeet, a 4000 foot mountain in Al Ain bordering Oman. The road was desribed as the greatest driving road in the world and I went to see if thats true!! I tied up all the loose strings at work and made some calls to mates who were interested in tagging along. But I realized my friends are all chickens down here. They keep talking about how they love to travel, camp, hike and make a fire and blah, blah, blah [View Full Entry]

As usual my ever supportive friends arranged another trip for me. This time to a nearby tourist spot called Nagarjuna sagar notorious for crocodile infestation. I was all excited to catch some crocs in action after my failed attempts near Manjira River last month. Bundled up everything I could call outdoor gear in my back pack and headed out on to the road with Nikhil, Abhinav and his soon to be fiancée Deepika - all classmates from college. It all started off as anything but an adventure trip. Guzzling down beer, smokin the car up, blasting the living heavens off a [View Full Entry]

Sun kissed, lush green, out of the way tropical islands have always been my big time fantasy. So after much waiting I decided to stop by at Srilanka before I headed out to India. Sadly nothing worked as I planned, I ended up spending my much awaited trip in the airport lounge. Even before I took off from Dubai I had trouble, they had some problem issuing boarding card coz I missed my flight from Hyderabad to Dubai two weeks ago and all the officials wanted to know why I missed it and which airlines I took to enter the [View Full Entry]

One of the last frontiers yet to fall into mans ownership. A beautiful place strictly reserved for the gutsy who can brave a 1000 kilometer ride into no where with temperatures ranging from 40 to 50 degrees. With camels and sand for company you will be stranded for good if you are not the outdoorsy type. Best way to reach is from Abu Dhabi and hop on a 3 hour drive to reach Madinat Zayed then drive straight on up to Liwa Oasis. The place is the birth place of UAE Royalty, a dead piece of land brought to vibrant [View Full Entry]

Well the trip to horsley hills is taking a little too long to materialize so I went out in search of other option. This time to Manjira Crocodile Sanctuary in Medak, except I did not manage to reach there at all due to miscellaneous reasons. But I did see a lot of stuff like the Medak Church, apparently a joint venture between French and English colonials in 1927!!!! It's a through and through Gothic church standing 175 feet tall and the story goes that all the materials used in the construction have been imported from France while the rest of [View Full Entry]

So, how do you define a perfect holiday? Lazing on a sun kissed beach with a bottle of Las tequilas or hiking up a mountain with adventure on mind. Well I wanted both and it wasn’t all that hard to choose a spot that offers both. Viva La Goa!!! The picturesque sea side Portuguese colony, bordering the Western Ghats of India was the place to be this monsoon. Shimmering white sands, the swaying palms and the never ending surf were such a temptation it was hard to let go off the place once we were there. A sleepy atmosphere perfected by [View Full Entry]
