No wonder the skanky cats like hanging around here !!
After a nine and a half hour flight, we arrived at Attaturk International Airport. A large, clean, modern facility. We proceeded through immigration smoothly in under 10 minutes. Luggage carts were easily accessible for 1 YTL, or you could hire porters for 3 YTL per bag. Our driver from the hotel was waiting for us and we were enroute to the hotel less than 30 minutes after deplaning. I believe this is a new record for us in international flight travel. We got our morning aerobic exercise on the drive, realizing that in Istanbul, red lights and pedestrians are merely a [View Full Entry]

How are you supposed to pack conservatively for a 35 day trip during which we will circumnavigate the globe? Lots of knits, a small soft rubbermaid basin and a small bottle of woolite is the way to go. It keeps the weight down and provides you with quick drying fabrics that do not wrinkle. I am happy to say, that I am packed and ready to go. Looks like we will be celebrating Thanksgiving with airline food on our 5:00 pm flight from JFK to IST tomorrow night. The good news is, we will arrive in Turkey on Friday morning at [View Full Entry]

We hit 24 foot seas, that sent glasses and dishes crashing to the floor. I also got tossed from bed and out of the shower. Our ship's Captain, Nenad Mogic, got us through it all with his skill and sense of humor. The [View Full Entry]

Ten of us took a wonderful trip to Iguassu Falls and the Argentina rain forest with a fascinating stay at Yacutinga Lodge. I arranged the trip with Adventure Life Vacations. We had wonderful guides on the trip who enhanced our visit with their history and nature knowledge of the area. We stayed at the Sheraton Iguassu that was adjacent to the Argentina side of the falls, where most of the falls are located. The hotel was comfortable and had a couple of nice restaurants. We also enjoyed the outdoor patio that provided a view of the falls. We spent one day [View Full Entry]
