Having surfaced early for breakfast, the rest of the morning was filled with an hour long session in the gym and catching up with some outstanding correspondence. Wednesday kicked off with a short taxi ride (my first of the trip) to the Raffles Hotel which is exactly where I wanted to go, but it still didn’t stop my enthusiastic cab driver offering me a very special discounted rate to go somewhere totally different...WHY!!! After last night's heavy session, you wouldn't believe how relieved I was that todays scheduled East Coast and Changi Tour was an afternoon start, however, this didn’t stop the enthusiastic if slightly wayward room service girl disturbing my sleep at 7am, by knocking at my door armed with Ironing board and Iron...Why!!! The Miramar Hotel is fantastic with my room up on the top floor. It's actually very nice, I have a choice of beds to sleep in so I have selected the one nearest the window coz I am a bit of an exhibitionist (not that anyone can see me so high up), however, I got totally freaked out before I even got to my room...by a talking lift!! OMG...Is that really my alarm going off already? I stayed up until 3am and watched the Liverpool game last night (idiot) so am feeling really tired this morning. Today was generally a quiet day as it goes because it was mainly taken up with yet more laundry and the packing of my case in readiness for tomorrows transfer to Singapore...the 4th leg of my adventure. Todays absolute insanity saw the intrepid explorer venturing over to Central Market in order to experience the luxury of a cute fish spa. Have paid my RM5, I removed my socks and shoes and planted my feet into the cold water, not really knowing what to expect...It didnt take me long to find out! Within a split second, there were hundreds of toothless fish nibbling or I may call it feasting on my feet - removing dead skin cells and skin allegedly...the sensation can only be likened to severe pins and needles. WOW!!! What a way to welcome 2009...though the experience left me feeling a little emotional, a few tears ran down my cheeks...a strange cocktail of sheer happiness of where I am in life right now and thoughts of my family and bestest friends back in the UK and abroad whom I miss so much. After performing the usual brekkie ritual, I grabbed my rucksack and camera before taking a short wander across to Central Market in order to catch the bus to the Batu Caves. After twenty minutes and having finally figured out that I was waiting in completely the wrong place, I ran about 100 yards up the road and hopped on the Number 11 which was just about to depart.
