Friday evening continued We went down to the reception area of the hotel, to do some work in the internet. We surfed for accommodation in Florence and found an Ibis hotel at what we thought was a good rate, €59.00 per night, so we booked for the next two nights. We went through to dinner and the recommended menu didn't appeal to either of us. So we had a dried meat with salad herbs and parmesan shavings and a vegetable soup to start, followed by a chicken with pineapple cubes and red peppercorns and a pasta with aubergine and mint pesto. Thursday continued We rested up for a while and then headed down for dinner, we both ended up with the suggested menu, which was as follows - potato dumplings, with wild mushrooms, in roast sauce roasted pork fillet, wrapped in bacon, with potatoes and courgettes mango confit, with rhubarb with ½ litre of water, a glass of wine, with coffee to finish All for €26.00 each, it was lovely, and Pat drank both glasses of wine, I had diet coke. Thursday, 30 October, 2008 Pat went off and had breakfast. We were up at a reasonable time and when Pat returned from breakfast we loaded the car. We then paid our bill and set off about ten o'clock. We guessed theHotel was run by a family and they were very personal in their customer care. The chef asking us what we wanted for dinner was charming. Monday, 27th October, 2008 We had to be out of the chalet at nine o'clock, so had to set an alarm for the first time in a long time. We where up, had the car packed, and Pat cleaned the chalet, by the time the guy arrived and was happy enough to give us our deposit back. Sunday, 26th October, 2008. The plan for today, is to prepare for our departure tomorrow. We spoke to our respective families, and caught up with the latest home information. It was a good job in one respect, because Pat's mother reminded us about the clocks changing, we wouldn't have had a clue. Especially as we had not planned to go anywhere today. Saturday 5th October, 2008 The plan for today was to head for Villefranche sur Mer. We set off fairly late about twelveish and decided to go the quick route via the toll motorway. It didn't take long and we were through Nice and heading along the coast road for Villefranche sur Mer. We decided to do the Villa Ephrussi first, which is heading out towards St Jean Cap Ferrat. Friday, 24th October, 2008 At one stage last night I was wondering what day it was, as I was drifting off to sleep. I have to say that I didn't know, and it took me quite a while to figure it out. Wednesday, 22nd October, 2008 Four weeks have now gone by. Planning for an easy day. Catching up with some washing, maybe some swimming. Pat bought some bread and croissants, from the little shop. I had a freshly baked, still warm, pain au chocolat, brought to me in bed. It was really good, with some coffee. We did as planned. Not much. Monday 20 October, 2008 This particular Premiere Classe was slightly different from the normal style on the outside, but the rooms themselves, much the same. We ended up with a good sized room, because of the shape of the Hotel. Also with a view of the sea and the airport, much better than the usual industrial estate. We left the Premiere Classe about 1030, and headed off towards Nice. We are cruising the French Riviera and of course, are now on the Cote D'Azur.
