Welcome Home
Your writing was like reading a book about your travels but with insight into the people you met, your feelings about the country, and your most private innner feelings about your family. This was truly a tribute to your dad, this beautiful country we live in and your family. Bob, you were willing to share your public and private thought with others. Thank you. Kim

Welcome Home
Awwwwww, what a beautiful tribute to your family! That is so cool you are a rough and tough man's man yet can say the nicest things about your wife and family and admit you shed a tear or two on the trip. Yes, the Good Lord has blessed you Bob. He loves you more than you love your own children. He created the beauty of the this earth just for you to enjoy. I am sure he is one proud daddy tickled pink that you saw the beauty in his handy work! Even God likes to hear His children say He did a good job! Welcome Home!

YOU ...
GOTTER DUN !! WELL DONE BOB - glad you are back safe and sound - I know exactly what you mean about the 1000 to 1300 mile trips with 2 hours sleep - just a little cruise to Montana Was a real pleasure reading you accounts - felt like being there sometimes As Louis L'Amour would say " You are a Man to ride the river with"

Caribou!
Thanks, Big Bill. That settles it for me. Based on that decision, I've seen all the animals I hoped to see on the trip.

caribou or ???
Don't know where that picture was taken but from the blog it seems you might be a little far south for caribou. More likely a young elk.

When I was little and used to live waaaaaaaaaaay up north I would lie in bed waiting and waiting for it to get dark and of course it never would--you'd just eventually fall asleep anyway. Of course the flip side is the winter when you'd walk to school in the morning and it would be pitch black and by 3:30 when you had to walk home it would be pitch black again.

lake louise
I once enjoyed the very same view from a spectacular suite on the 5th floor of the very same hotel! Equally spectacular is Waterton Lakes Park way down in the southwestern corner of the province--also a must see.

Happy Fathers Day!
Bob, I've really been enjoying keeping up with your adventure through your updates - surely not as much as you've been enjoying this trip of a lifetime. Your commentary and the pictures have really brought it to life from this end... I'm jealous ;-) Hope you continue to have a safe journey home.

Whorehouses
Gerties used to be a whorehouse as well as a gambling joint. Back in the day, there were a lot of whorehouses in Dawson. But not today.....
