'Heard' you reading this the whole way through, it made me smile from ear to ear but miss you loads too. WHY do we have two doors in public toilets before getting into the room? I have never noticed this before and now it's going to confuse me every time I go. An excellent read, as ever, you'll be hugely missed, Sarah. Glad you got back to Boston safely. Wishing you a very successful next chapter. See you soon chick xx
Mo Farrah is coming in third in the picture *face-palm* x
Bees Beautiful pictures of a beautiful area. I love the heather! Bummer about the bees, though. Pretty sure they would have found you even without the orange....
Very Interesting I have been planning to travel to europe which is how I stumbled upon your blog... Very well done. Witty and informative at the same time. Thank you for posting about your travels..
Great work with the blog! Hey Sarah,
I hope all is well. Apologies for the speculative nature of this post, I was directed to your blog by Kristen a few months back. I wanted to say that your articulation about Bath is on point, it is a beautiful city that thrives in good weather but can be harder to appreciate in the rain. I grew up about 25 minutes drive outside of the city and must confess that the entire area is beautiful if somewhat rural. If you enjoy the history and heritage of Britain you should definitely try to check out some National Trust and English Heritage properties...these are great places to whirl away sunny afternoons with cream teas in the quaint gardens of old aristocratic manor houses. Check out their websites, they should give you a flavor of what to expect. Anyway great to see you are enjoying your time and should I ever be able to help with anything please don't hesitate to ask. Best wishes and warmest regards.
Were the living room roofs low to make the rooms easier to keep warmer than the out of doors?
Please never stop taking pictures and writing about your travels and studies.
Northern Quarter aw, you stayed at Hilton Chambers, i used to live in a flat round the corner from there. I miss Manchester!
(sorry i'm rather late reading your blog!!)
C'mere, you're systematically ripping my credibility to shreds with these blog entries! As for the dodgy (but lovely) road - I couldn't possibly have driven it when I was 16 because we're not allowed to drive til we're 18 (maybe 17 actually...), I personally didn't start learning to drive til I was 20 and the first time I drove the road was with Eoghan - whom I didn't meet til I was 21! We may take poetic license with narrative embellishments, but we do like to be faithful to the salient plotpoints and TRUTH! You're making me sound like Pinnochio :O I think maybe you picked up a bit of Blarney yourself when we were there! Don't get me wrong though, I'm impressed :D
losing the camera Skypaday cannot legitimately claim sole responsibility for absentmindedness as in the case of the forgotten camera. Her father and mother are very bright, but her paternal grandfather claims t o be the genetic source of some of her more endearing weaknesses.
A golf course??? Any body that has ever golfed would tell you that the old course at St Andrews is the most famous golf course in the world. Playing it is on many a bucket list
I still am occasionally thrown by the "you alright?" question... I know what it means in the UK, but it's still sometimes funny to hear.
I experienced a little of the grade comparing thing here... for the most part though, when we did talk about, it was more geared towards mutual congratulation/sympathy, as opposed to competition.
Edinburgh! Oh Sarah, these pictures brought back such wonderful memories of my year at the U. of Edinburgh about 100 years ago! I miss it! Rick and I were there again in 1998 and it really had not changed much from the medieval city that I remembered! I was surprised at how green the grass is my the national gallery! When you return, please go on the ghost tour...touristy, but a lot of fun! I am so glad you are taking advantage of everything Great Britain has to offer! Have fun!
