2nd May, 2009 Had a great nights sleep, weather is warm and there was a nice breeze. Today we went up to Lake Havasu, on the Parker Dam - talk about boys and their toys, this is where all the yuppies come with their speed boats - some powered by twin V8's and some even turboed. They aren't there for anything other than showing off their toys and their bodies, ladies and gentlemen you would have loved it - see the photo's. The city of Lake Havasu was built by none other than Mr McCullough (thats right Mr chainsaws himself) in [View Full Entry]

23rd April. Insurance for the RV today, not too bad. Have had a major problem trying to hook up with the computer, unless you can find a hot spot, you pay, even at Starbucks, yes $3.99 US for two hours = lots of companies available to hook you up on a two year contract (no use to us). Dinner at Denny's, closest thing to a NZ meal yet. Hard times over here, buy a car 0% down and 60 months interest free, buy anything and no interest untill 2012, still lots of people losing their jobs, houses etc. 24th April. Day [View Full Entry]

30th April 2009 This morning it is cold in the desert, about 12c Went for a guided tour of the Keys ranch with a ranger. You would not believe how these people lived right up into the 1960's, talk about primitive. The thing that got me the most though is that nothing rusts - less than 20% hunidity year round and only 5 inches of rain over the past two years (not a lot of moisture). The steel is as good as the day it was made, paint has been cooked off and the steel has gone brown, but no rust. [View Full Entry]

JT is the 15th Largest National Park in USA and is part of the Mojave desert. In the National Park there is only Freedom Camping so conservation on everything is a must. We camped at Jumbo Rocks, an area of huge rock formations, formed by volcanic eruptions and erosion, have a look at the photos and tell us what you see, there are many formations. 21st April, 2009 Today the search began for the RV, thank goodness for the GPS, travelling with the two loves of my life now, Sam and the female voice on th GPS, and even she got me lost a number of times (wasn't my fault - no way) Out to Irvine, Pomona, visited 8 dealerships today and have seen numerous RV's - typical sales men, will sell you anything they feel like at the time. We can't get over the fact that we have to listen to their life stories and problems everytime, sam thought it was just hairdressers people confided [View Full Entry]
