GGimme Sommadat Lasagna! Ooh boy, does this look and sound good, Bob...but what I'm really registering is all the love that was added to the recipe...deelish! xoxoxo
Your Breaking My Heart... Again! Bobby: Fantastic pics, yet again. Kids are the best. I can just imagine their interaction with you. Funny! Got your post cards. Love them. Address is 248 though, not 240 but a neighbour I don't see enough of brings them over. So, we visit because of you. Wish you all the best my friend and a pre Happy Thanksgiving. We will be thinking of you. Sometimes, I don't see you coming back! I see you embarking on yet another Bob007 mission. Love ya Bobby / Deb & Peter.
Nominated I don't want you to think I'm a stalker or anything, but I nominated you for Blogger of the Week. Your writing alone merits accolades, but then your pictures bring it to a whole new level.

I really enjoy your blog! You have a very interesting style of writing. I enjoy it immensely; I can't wait for your next blog!
I especially like your take on children. While traveling here in Mexico and Central America, I ALWAYS want to touch, hold, play with the babies/kids. My husband has to keep cautioning me about getting too close. I don't think, however, one mother is going to say something to another mother, but who knows...
Anyway, I want to read more of your blog - keep them coming!

Thank You, Bobby! What a great post! I loved seeing the children through your eyes. I'm excited to be volunteering again at Devin's school this year (between work gigs) so I can enjoy the kids there, too. It really is a great feeling to work with them all and a joy when they remember me from year to year with big hugs, smiles. You really do influence these locals even though you can't fully converse. I'm sure you're teaching them that even a bizarre-looking Muzungu like yourself is so much more a kid than they are. :)
Sorry we rarely write to you, I suspect your inbox is always overflowing with comments from family & friends so I try to keep mine to a minimum. But please know that I/we read every post, think of you often and are SO very glad you are safe and healthy. I loved your vacation blog posts and pics, too! You definitely should consider becoming a contributor for Travel Channel when you get back.
Peace, hugs and kisses,
Dianne, Doug & Devin D.
Looks like you had an amazing summer travelling through Europe! Hope you're continuing to enjoy your Tanzanian adventure. Missing you back home in Toronto! xoxo
Wow, that's scary. I remember when I lived in Zambia, my parents cordoned off the bedroom area of the house with jail bars so when (not if) burglars broke in, they could just steal the valuable items in the living area, but not have access to the sleeping area.
Good you're staying cautious Bobby! Missing you back home!
WOW! This blog is absolutely incredible! I hope you don't mind, but I am following you on you journeys. I know, it sort of makes me sound like a stalker!
Anyway, I'm glad to know you are safe and I'm looking forward to more blogs from you!

Thank You, Bob... Every once in awhile I take the time to visit your site and read about where you are. I always enjoy travelling vicariously with you to these incredible places. Loaded down with childrearing I only get to travel through amazing friends like you.
What a story you will have in your back pocket after all this.
Travel Writing Bob:
I think your next 'calling' should be as a travel writer. Resorts and all. Get working on that next will you. Never mind Rick Steeves! I have enjoyed all the photos and by the sounds of it you guys are having a wonderful adventure. Here's to many more discoveries. Love ya, Deb.
For old times sake! As you stood oh so close to the edge of the canal in Venice, I expected the next photo to be you falling backwards into the water as your best impression of Kate Hepburn in "Summertime".

I left Canada on July 1st, 2011 and traveled to Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. I am happy to say that this adventure is beyond my expectations.
First and foremost, my work with Femina (www.feminahip.or.tz) is great. Femina is a multimedia platform and civil society organization. It provides information and encourages open dialogue with Tanzanian youth, families and communities on important topics like sexual and reproductive health, economic empowerment and citizen engagement. Their approach provides voice to youth and gets them engaged in topics related to improving their lives.
