In the last 10 days I have game driven through 3 of the most amazing game parks in Africa. Each year the Great Migration happens between the Masai Mara and Serengetti. These are the only two parks which still allow the migration to happen as all other parks throughout Africa are fenced of for protection purposes. I found it interesting to discover that in the first few years that most parks were fenced off they lost thousands of animals because the fences prevented them from crossing to food and water. The silly buggars didn't understand to go back to where they [View Full Entry]

Gorillas in Uganda Africa » Uganda
I have just finished the first leg of my East Africa trip. I have scored a really good group which age in range from 29 to 40. There are 5 guys and 5 girls. 6 Canadians and 4 Aussies. Uganda is a very green country which has tonnes and tonnes of hills. My legs have got a great workout. We spent 2 days travelling down to Biwindi. I have been very suprised by our accomodation. I have had my own room and the food is great. I am beginning to exercise some self control and only eat what I need. So [View Full Entry]

zzzzz......Zanzibar Africa » Tanzania
I have just spent the last 3 days on the Island of Zanzibar. This is considered to be part of Tanzania. We had to take a 2 hour ferry ride across the Pacific Ocean to get there. It was well worth it. The first day was spent in Stone Town which reminded me somewhat of Italy. Tiny ally ways to get lost in and people driving scooters everywhere. There is fantastic shopping but it is not cheap. In the afternoon the group went on a spice tour which was fascinating. The guide was very funny as he had been taught english [View Full Entry]

Stone Town
The infamous Bus accident

Hi everyone! I finally have some quiet time to update you all on my adventures. I have just left Zanzibar but have seen many things on my way. So I guess I will begin with Livingstone.... My time in Livingstone began with a traditional must do trip to Victoria Falls. WOW! I can understand why it is one of the seven wonders of the world. The water is a force to be reckoned with and even though you stand metres and metres away from it you still get drenched from the spray. I decided to look into the falls a little [View Full Entry]

Mind Blowing Chobe Africa » Botswana
Ok I wanted to write about my time in Chobe all on it's own because it was a really moving experience. I spent 2 days Safari driving through Chobe National Park. Initially I was a little unmotivated as we have not had much rest and we were up at 5am for an early morning drive but boy am I glad that I went! Generally when you drive through these parks you are sure to see something but we saw and experienced more that we ever imagined. We drove up to a herd of elephants. I have no idea how many there [View Full Entry]

Hippos Everwhere
Water Babies!
Amazing!

It seems like a lifetime ago but I did my first game drives in Etosha. We had a great amp site that was near a waterhole that was permanently light during the night. Tourists can sit there and watch animals come and drink. I was fortunate enough to witness a giraffe drinking. They look so unco when they try to drink he he he. On the game drive we found another waterhole that had zebra, springbok, Kudu and giraffe. Suddenly this lion apperaed from nowhere and all the animals moved away very very quickly. We sat and watched her for hours. [View Full Entry]

Howdy..... I am finally back in civilization with fairly decent internet access. I have so much to tell all of you....... gosh....wow... amazing.... where to begin. Well firstly I have to show all of you my sky dive which I can't believe I did. I am still getting my head around it. Thought it had cured my height issues but today I walked across the Victoria Falls bridge and freaked!!!!! so my theory is blown. Anyway I think the photos say a lot. Be warned****** I was very very happy when it was over. The DVD is awesome but won't download [View Full Entry]

Ok sooooo.... I am having the time of my life! Constantly on the search for showers and clean toilets but loving Africa so far. My first few days in Cape Town were a little daunting but I have adjusted well. It was really great to start here because it is somewhat similar life style to home. I stayed at the Raddison which was gorgeous and my room overlooked the Atlantic Ocean. This Hotel was la di da! and I had everything I wanted. I spent the first day visiting museums and I had this taxi driver take me around for most [View Full Entry]
