I have been living in London for 3 weeks today. For some reason I feel as though I have been here alot longer but time is flying by and it certainly has been a difficult road. But I am sorting myself out and can see the light at the end of the tunnel. So here is an overview of the 3 weeks that have been. Lots has been going on so get ready for a long blog. First of all my arrival into London went well. One of the first things I discovered when I arrived here was that the place [View Full Entry]

I feel very privileged to have spent this week in New York. At such a significant time in history with the inauguration of Americas first coloured president, I never thought that my urge to see the city that never sleeps would fall into line with such a momentous occasion. HOW LUCKY AM I! I spent the beginning of Inauguration day in time square amongst thousands of dedicated americans who had braved the cold to watch a mans life change forever and a new time in history begin. It was difficult to find a spot to view one of the many large [View Full Entry]

So it has been 90 days since my last blog and it is well and truely time for me to begin the newest leg of my journeys around the world. I have spent the last two weeks in Canada. Alberta to be exact. Here I have visited some really good canadian friends that I met during my travels through Africa. I have stayed with Alain who has been over the top in making my stay awesome and he has made me feel really comfortable. On my first day in Canada I could not resist the mounds of snow that I looked [View Full Entry]

It is with great sadness that I write my final blog entry for this trip. I am certain that it ended on a very good note, in Dubai. After eight hours in transit I finally arrived at the Abu Dahbi airport at 9 30 pm. Upon arrival I faced lines through customs that I have never seen before and lots of trouble finding my baggage. Needless to say I could not wait to have a long bath at the Sheraton hotel where I would be staying. But what I soon discovered was that someone had other plans for me during my [View Full Entry]

I love Essouira! This was our first real chance in 2 weeks to see the coastline and soak up the gorgeous sun. When we arrived in Essouira our tour guide took us for a quick walk to get to know the basic layout of the village. I can not describe to you how difficult it was to walk past sooooooo many interesting shops and not go inside. I felt like a bubble waiting to burst! Every street is lined with shop after shop and food after food. I was overcome with excitement at the thought of spending money....... and boy! I [View Full Entry]

Ok so first I must apologise for the first photo. The dude at the front was our local guide in the Todra Gorge and he thought he was giving the aussie thumbs up until we explained he he he. So his name was Assis and he is the best mountain rock climber in the gorge area. So good that he assisted Tom Cruise when they completed stunts for the last Mission Impossible movie. You know the one where he is hanging of the rock in the intro....... well its the real deal and that is where I have spent the last [View Full Entry]

Vive le Maroc Africa » Morocco
I must admit that my first few days in Morrocco were not the greatest and I found myself wondering if I had made the right decision coming here. It is really difficult to travel on your own as the first language of the Morrocon people is Arabic/ Berber and the second is french. I found myself in Casablanca with no one to understand me and in the middle of Ramadaan which has been an experience in itself. My first advice to anyone wanting to travel to Morrocco is DON'T GO TO CASABLANCA! The only good thing about that place is the [View Full Entry]

My Favourite Things In Egypt Africa » Egypt
Could not move on to my next destination without sharing my experiences of the culture throughout Egypt. This certainly is a place that is very different to home and it takes skill and time to become acustomed to what you see, hear, taste and smell. One thing I will always remember is the amazing bazaars beginning at every corner. Items of jewellery, clothing, food and souveneirs are crammed into every corner of each proud shop owners 1mx1m shop. The colour is almost blinding. You are hassled from the moment you step foot through the beautiful entrance until you leave. 'Where are [View Full Entry]

I finish my tour of Egypt today and all in all I am leaving here feeling very, cultured, historical, very relaxed and very very FAT! Over the past week I have travelled on every transport imaginable beginning with an overnight train ride down to Luxor. This is a beautiful city that I wish I had more time to explore. Temperatures in Luxor hit 40 degrees so we had to rise early and see all the wonderful sites. We would be back at the hotel each day by about 10am so the rest of the day was mine to eat and lounge [View Full Entry]

'The Tourists of Giza' Africa » Egypt
Have spent the last few days exploring Cairo where I have done the must do's guide to Egypt. Yesterday we headed out to see the first Pyramids ever built. I was consumed by my visit to Memphis, Egypts oldest Capital City, where we viewed many artifacts including the monstorous figure of King Ramses II. This particular area in mostly populated by egyptian people and is therefore unable to be excavated by archeologists. Many of the homeowners have conducted illegal excavations under their homes to reveal many of the treasures of Memphis. They dare never to speak up about their findings for [View Full Entry]
