Hello all On the border with chile Bolivia has the worlds largest salt flat, for those of you that arenot familiar with them, basically the ground is covered with salt- from a dried out sea/lake. We arrived at the town of Uyuni at 6am we walked about for a bit before finding a hostel to crash at. We left our belonings at the hostel and went for breakfast. On the way to breakfast a lady with no teeth (dental hygine is not a massive concern in bolivia) told us about the tour her company was offering and we decided to book it with her, we left later that day on a 4 day trip. As most people do 3 day trips it was oing to be just us three for the first afternoon. DAY1 Started with ... read more

Hello all After leaving La paz we headed for the largest body of water in the world at such a high alltitude. Lake Titicata. The lake is situated on the border with Peru. The trip did not get off to a good start as the Bolivian cuisine finaly caught up with me and my stomach, so the bus journey there i was struggling to keep my stomach contents inside, turned out to be a difficult task. Anyway got to the main town on the lake called cocacohbana (i cant spell), if you didnt know the beach in rio is named after a shrine kept in this town. We managed to check into a hostel and got a private room for under a pound each a night, cheapest on the trip! While a was in bed all ... read more

Hello all From where i left off, we had got to the border between Argentina and Bolivia. We simply got a taxi to the border then walked across a bridge to Bolivia. We knew that we wanted to get to La paz, but we didnt know wether to get the train halfway and then get a bus or just get a bus the whole way there, on route to the train station we went to the bus station and found a bus for 50 bolivians that is just over 3 pounds. For an 18 (suposedly) hour bus journey that i s as cheap as chips and we signed on the dotted line. The bus was not as luxurious as we are used to and the roads are not maintained-hence not the most enjoyable of journeys. Got ... read more

Well after the road trip we headed back to BA to meet up with rich and mark for the weekend before all heading to Mendoza. The plan was a messy friday and saturday nights followed by some cultural things on the sunday before leaving on the monday. First night went to a club called Mint which had a famous dj called ferry corston playing, it was a sweet set by the man and a could but very heavy night. I wasent feeling great the next day so preety much did nothing, me and dan went to see a film and on the way back had an attempted mugging, when 6 ... read more

Hello all Last left you guys in BA, after the constant partying we needed a bit of a break, that came in the form of the lake district on the border of Chlie. We arrived in Neuquen, with the intent of renting an automobile, we arrived in the evening and decided to stay the night and sort out the transport in the morning. We headed to the airport as that is where all the rental companies were based, got there and there was noone at any of the desks. We presumed that they were on there lunch break and settled down and played a bit of indoor frisbee. Then after about 20 minutes the only other people in the airport-a nice argentinian family informed us that the desks were closed and thy phoned the numbers ... read more

Hello all The latest blog is from the capital of Argentina- Buenos Aires. Got off the bus and got the subway to the hostel of choice ´the Milhouse´ which is big among travelers, and is easily the biggest hostel so far. To prove its sive in the basement it had its own travel agency-bizzare. Anyway got there and went to wake dan up from a drunken haze. We had planned to go to see Boca Juniors play, but we thought it was the next day. When we arrived the coach from the hostel was leaving in twenty mins, so after some deliberation we decided to go with the hostel. The game was brilliant, the atmosphere is completly different to English games, firstly we were in a standing section which was crammed, secondly the fans are ... read more

Hello all I found the best steak of my life but not in Argentina as expected but in Uruguay. It was only me and seb in Uruguay as dan decided to head to BA early. Got on an overnight bus to the capital-Montevideo, but then straight away got on a bus to the colonial town os Colonia del Sacremento. Got there allrite and we had a hostel in mind, got into a taxi who ripped us off but it was still under a pound, they have a different payment system, on the meter it counts tarrifs, but we thought it was the amount in peso´s- so an argument with the taxi driver was a bit inevitable. Anyway got to the hostel and decided to get a map and do the walking tour around the colonial ... read more

Hello all Just a quick one to try and catch up on this blog, im a bit backlogged at the moment. After Iguazu we came to Argentina's second biggest city Rosario. You might of heard of it if you have seen or read the motorcycle diarys, as it is the birth place of Che Guevara. We decided to go there after as it has a great weekend party vibe, and apparantly had 70% female population (true). Got there liked the city remined me a little bit of london. Got there early in the morning so we went to a hotel (which was horrible) dropped off our stuff then walked around until a cafe opened so we could get some breakfast. I then went to sleep while seb and dan went shopping , the day went by ... read more

Hello All As you can see I am no longer in Brazil and have crossed over the Border to Argentina. Stayed in a Place called Puerto Iguazu, near Pargue Nacional Iguaz, which is home to the biggest set of waterfalls in the world. You can view the falls from both the Brazilian side of the border and also from the Agentinian side. We were going to stay in Foz do Iguacu on the Brazilian side for a night then go to Puerto Iguazu for a night, but we met an Isreali chap on the bus who recomended a hostel in Puerto so we decided to go there. The bus from Rio droped us off in Foz and we got a taxi over the border (no problems) to the hostel where me dan and seb and ... read more
