Us at Angel Falls
Welcome to my last blog entry! Yes, thats right, my travels are almost at an end....I have only a few days left in South America before heading for home at last. But before I get too sentimental hereīs the run down of my last month. My Canberra friend Andreana (aka Yarnie) arrived in Venezuela in late July and we spent 3 weeks in Venezuela. Stop Number 1 was Angel Falls, the highest waterfalls in the world. Needless to say they were very very high and very very spectacular. The 4 hour boat trip to the falls was also amazing with fantastic [View Full Entry]

Well the good times have continued to roll here in Colombia - it is quickly catching up to Argentina in the race to become my favourite country in South America! After a great couple of weeks of volunteering it was back to travelling.....first stop was Bogota, the big city capital. Here I was lucky enough to have a friend introduce me to two Colombians, Andreas and Fabian, who quickly took me under their wing and put in a huge effort to make sure I had a great time in Bogota. This mostly involved feeding me every alcoholic beverage ever invented/drank/thought about [View Full Entry]

Hola from Colombia! Its been a while between updates and its all been happening so here it goes..... After wrapping up our joint adventure in South America with a few days in Quito, Tim and I made the big journey to Ye Olde England to catch up with a whole bunch of family and friends, as well as enjoy a bit of civilisation. Its the small things that are exciting, like visiting a supermarket that has absolutely everything you could ever want in it, putting your toilet paper in the toilet rather than in the bin next to the toilet, and [View Full Entry]

Peru's national dish, the guinea pig. Other specialities included raw fish marinated in lemon, the quickest route between your stomach and salmonella poisoning.
Everywhere a boobie boobie...... No I have not turned into a dirty sex fiend, but I have just returned from the Galapagos Islands where the famous boobie birds abound! No doubt you can imagine the puns flowing freely throughout the trip, but before we get to the Galapagos Islands here are a few other updates for you. Tim and I spent around 2 weeks in Cusco and the surrounding areas in southern Peru. Tim learnt heaps of Spanish in his classes while I had a lot of fun volunteering at an after school drop-in centre for kids. We managed to visit [View Full Entry]

Hi everyone! How are you all going? Sorry about the gap between blog entries....but the truth is Tim and I have been spending way too much time getting high to worry about anything as mundane as blogs. Ok, that was a really bad attempt at a joke.....for all you people with sinful minds, I am referring to altitude rather than mind altering substances. We have spent the last few weeks in the highlands of Bolivia and Peru, gasping for breath and cursing all people who think it is a good idea to live about sea level. First stop in Bolivia was [View Full Entry]

Hi again everyone and welcome to the Easter edition of our blog! We have had a cracking couple of weeks in Argentina, so sit back, chomp on those leftover easter eggs and enjoy! First stop was El Calafate and the famous Perito Moreno glacier. This was pretty awesome as you can get very close to the glacier. It is also still advancing so big sheets of it fall off all the time which is very exciting (in the otherwise fairly slowpaced world of glaciers, anyway). Tim and I then spent about a week around the lovely little village of El Chalten [View Full Entry]

Hi everyone, I hope you are all well and enjoying life wherever you may be! Tim arrived safe and sound in Chile at the start of February and since then it has become the Timbo-and-Pendo-do-South-America trip. If I was more technologically minded I would try and change the name of the blog, but lets face it, I am just too lazy, so we are sticking with the old name. As Tim arrived armed with all the camping and outdoor activity equipment a nice girl like myself could ever wish for, it has been an adventure sports extravaganza in the Andes and [View Full Entry]

Buenas dias from Argentina! I hope this blog entry finds everyone fit and well and enjoying the cricket season! After a great couple of weeks in Bolivia I have spent the last two weeks in northern Argentina and I have been having a great time. I spent a few days in the desert, which was similar to the desert in southern Bolivia so I wonīt bore you with too many details, only to say that I loved my first taste of Argentinian life. Pretty much a typical day for an Argentinian seems to run as follows: 7.30am: Sunrise. But you donīt [View Full Entry]

Hi again everyone, Well this is just a quick blog entry to say hi again and I hope you are all having top times wherever you may be! I thought I would load up a head of photos onto this entry since the last one was sadly lacking in them, so I hope you enjoy seeing the sights. Also, I have to admit that it is raining here so I am killing time in an internet cafe until it stops! I am continuing to have a top time in Bolivia. I sent about 6 days in a wonderful city called Sucre. [View Full Entry]

Hi again everybody, Well, even though Christmas and New Years seems so long ago I thought I should give you an update on all the action! I hope everyone had a fantastic Christmas and New Years and you are now settling into holidays/work/whatever else you may be doing. Quick note - I am on a dodgy computer and canīt get any photos to upload, so this is a very boring text only entry I am afraid! I spent Christmas in Costa Rica in a town called Puerto Viejo on the carribean coast - a very nice place apart from the fact [View Full Entry]
